I think that the "hustle only" culture is a big meme based on spatial-temporal reduction of real growth and high trust distribution of resources. It's a meme forced by those who have better initial conditions than poor people. And thus it is a rationalization of the hamster-in-the-wheel type of work like: "we are rich because we work so hard and so efficiently". #blog #thoughts #hustle #culture #work

It is also interesting to see how natural environment influences cultural traits. Both from individual experience and analysis of history of humanity and geography. When I was living in Ural, I tended towards submissive-only behavior and totality of destiny. However, I still holded individualism, exploratism and creativity as core values besides harmony. And when I has been living in Southern countries with mild climate, I have become more communicative, friendly and opportunistic. Or is it just coincidence accompanied by ageing and development? Or both? When I analysed history of monotheism and despotic models of rule, I came into insight that these originated in countries with extreme weather conditions, extreme natural resources scarcity and high population density in areas, where conditions are quite better. While rich arts, science and humanistic ideals with emphasis on individualism and variadic degree of cooperation originated in southern countries with rich soil, greenery and mild climate. #blog #thoughts #worldview #philosophy

It's interesting to spot how different fundamental values of individuals can lead to the same cultural traits. For example, my favor of slow life, dislike of "hustle only" culture, even some "left" ideas (I neither like ultra-right ideals with "everyone should survive on their own", nor communism, anti-entrepreneurism, anti-privacy). And my internet friend share the same traits. However, he comes from deterministic and objectivist perception of Universe, and I come from non-deterministic and subjectivist perception of Universe with determinism localized in exploitable by human models. And this is where our views on society, living a life, doing work diverge. He's kinda communist with strong formalization of different personality types. I'm kinda libertarian who associates positive (or cooperative) societal inequality with parenting, mentoring and friendship, and negative (or parasitic) societal inequality with unidirectional exploitation of people (viewing them as "farm animals", "craftable and destroyable tools" or "extractable resources"). #blog #thoughts #worldview #philosophy

Do you remember when on the onset of AI hype many "AI experts" told that coding UI would be a first thing from programming, which LLMs would automate? #llm #coding #ui #ai

1-2 years ago I was working on an artistic pet-project which aimed to be catalogue of various pharmacy products. This was kinda mixed art with unique design, easter eggs and custom perfomance-oriented back-end. I developed various utilities and services during development of the project. You can read about them in my Medium: https://medium.com/@jzx777 #programming #craftprogramming #art #frontend #backend #web

I don't like an idea of "living in the present" as defining the life. Because if the idea was taken in this context, there wouldn't be such things as learning and creativity. #blog #life

Everyone who claims "Bad Engineer" as "<= Senior Engineer" and "Good Engineer" as "Lead Engineer", will be banned. They can repeat many times that LLMs give strong credit to isomorphic relation between degree of maturity and "bad/good engineer" dichotomy. I don't pay into it since I work with LLMs and less experienced engineers who also use the same tooling. Segregation of responsibility inequality is bs because that's not how position works in healthy functioning cooperation.

1. Work should be ecologic for humans as creative and explorative beings which live as long as they essentially can. 2. So the best code which solves a given (real or imaginary/perspective) problem, is no written code. If this solution for given problem exists. 3. Periodicity of multiple patterns/modes is a mitigation of negative effects of the Goodhart’s law. “Work hard” and “follow easy path” are also patterns with limits. 4. So write less boilerplate “monkey” code, write more business-related and engineering code which provides you a solid basis for future development without energy draining mundane work. #blog #programming #softwareengineering #work

4 months ago I wrote another article on making bots by prompt engineering with PromptQL. I explained how expansion and execution of code embeddings brings full power to prompt templates. Here it is: https://medium.com/@jzx777/making-bots-with-promptql-code-embeddings-5b21efd52c51 For purpose of examples, I ran bot with the Openhermes Mistral 2.5B model and the llama.cpp server. 4 months ago I tested my audio stories generator on the Nous Hermes 10.7B model which runs locally on my CPU. And on llama.cpp server. And there are results! The stories generator (built with PromptQL front-end and Nous Hermes, OpenAI TTS back-ends) is here: The Nous Hermes 10.7B model can be downloaded here: The llama.cpp server can be installed from here: https://github.com/ggerganov/llama.cpp/tree/master/examples/server #PromptQL #texttospeech #llm #locallm #promptengineering #prompts #messageprotocol #agents #golang #go #programming #opensource #library #indietech #programming #ai #generativeai #blog

I found this parable 7 years ago in a small imageboard on philosophy topic. Can you help me identify origins of it? I only have a text of it saved on my computer (other parts of the story are in comments): "During my walk on the lake, I was talking with an imaginable creature. Which appears to be an angel. I talked with him about what is the difference between free and slave person. He offered me to imagine a bottle and a landscape. Bottle uses its water for different actions. We went through different stages of differences: 1) "Free" bottle moves. "Slave" bottle does not move. 2) "Free" bottle moves in different directions. "Slave" bottle moves in one direction. 3) "Free" bottle moves, builds new walls and crashes existing walls. "Slave" bottle only moves. 4) "Free" bottle moves, builds, crashes and makes building and crashing more efficient. "Slave" bottle moves, builds new walls with only a clay and crashes walls with only a stone stick. 5) "Free" bottle moves, builds, crashes, optimizes, records and reuses information on his clay with stone stick. "Slave" bottle only moves, builds, crashes and tries to find "best" solution. 6) "Free" bottle moves, builds, crashes, optimizes, records, reuses information and uses walls for recording. "Slave" bottle doesn't see walls as recording mean. 7) "Free" bottle learns from past sucked bottle. "Slave" bottle starts from scratch every time. 8) "Free" bottle knows: its capacity is limited for water, and it grows something different for extra capacity. "Slave" bottle only recharges water. 9) "Free" bottle is focused on life. "Slave" bottle is focused on easy-to-follow frames or comfort zone. 10) "Free" bottle rests. "Slave" bottle is busy every time. So this is how I can determine difference between the "free" and the "slave". Then I asked The Angel about what's the difference between the "good" and the "evil". If they can do the same things in different contexts. The Angel said me something like: - The Good is free and harmonic. The evil destroys itself and tries to survive at the same time. - But isn't the evil harmonic if it can keep the same level of life with different means? - Harmony is eternal. It is about finding a balance between your qualia and surroundings. Self-destruction with survival is not eternal. It's limiting. Harmony and limiting are different things. - How does harmony come in pair with freedom if harmony also poses constraints? - You can live healthy and peaceful life with unlimited journey and creation. And you don't need to have more power or money, than you need to achieve for this. This is what about this dichotomy. - So The Good lives life and creates value for themselves and then for others? And the evil is limited in beliefs so it tries to limit others to survive? So others can also be drained into the same game? - Yes. You are right. - Isn't utilizing resources of Nature a destruction for survival? - No. - Why? - They can be utilized for growth. Like child grows in size to adult person. And a single room apartment which looked like a palace, starts to look like a cage. - So The Good grows until free harmonic eternity is achieved? And the evil deludes itself by false beliefs into eternity of their limited image? - Yes. - But other conscious beings can also be utilized as resources. - Then they're not conscious beings. They're fully controlled items like minerals or cattle. Conscious beings brings the Harmony and the Freedom. - So The Good works on par with other conscious beings to grow? And the evil tries to destroy consious beings to extract resources for its survival? - Yes. - Can the evil be a shadow of The Good? And this shadow deludes itself, that it's worth the same and even greater than The Good? - Yes. You're right. - I understand you. Why the evil exists then? - It exists to understand The Good. The Good learns All The Life. To achieve The Harmony and The Freedom. While the evil portrays All The World as a perfect sphere, which can be easily predicted and controlled. - I understand you. Then I walked out of the forest back to the home. The Angel said: - We are walking through the people. I keep you. So that you look easy while dreaming. Today you have a rest and dreaming mind because you underslept. That's ok. Later you will sleep well and be in more hurry for your path." #blog #story #philosophy #parable #freeman
