I'm learning that Bitcoin is a small and very tight network of people. It's so much more than a monetary system. You guys rock!
Getting closer to God and reading the Bible everyday now. Are there any nostr clients that can mute curse words like Twitter? I love censorship.
Peter Thiel stumbled on an important point in his last podcast with Joe Rogan. Bitcoin is such a big idea, such a fundamental disruption in money and such an Earth shattering invention, that society as a whole simply doesn't know how to process it. Its easy to process small incremental technological changes. Even big changes like AI can be comprehended because we've seen software get smarter over time so when we see it get really smart in one go, we can paint a viable picture within 1 or 2 years. But money itself has seen no improvement in a 100 years. In fact its steadily gotten worse and most people are just boiling frogs who barely even understand what money is. We just take it for granted. We internalise it to such an extent that we are oblivious to even what it is. For Bitcoin to come and fundamentally change the very structure of how money works, and of how one half of every transaction on Earth will work, is simply too much for the uninitiated to fathom. It is far easier to dismiss it as something familiar like a ponzi. Imagine if a technology came and claimed to completely change everything you know about breathing. We don't study breathing, we just do it. We take it for granted. Its the same with money. We don't study it, or even understand it. We just use it. Simply put, Bitcoin is so fundamentally disruptive, that it is simply, unfathomable.
From Twitter: My preacher this morning: “I’ve counseled so many couples over the years who have said, ‘we fell out of love’. And what I came to find out was they didn’t fall out of love, they fell into debt. They couldn’t tell if they owned the house, or that house owned them. They couldn’t tell if they owned the car, or that car owned them.” We know that finances is the NUMBER ONE reason couples fight and get divorced. It was the number one source of fights in my marriage as well for a LONG time. So if we know that is the number one reason for problems in a marriage, why do continue to let it happen? Because we wanna look cool and “we’ve made it”. Because people are scared to talk about money and are more worried about impressing others. As soon as I quit worrying about impressing others I lost a lot of friends. I still don’t have many. However the relationship I gained with my wife, I wouldn’t trade for anything. If you’re reading this and struggling, or in a great spot, I’m begging you to get on the same page with your spouse and don’t be afraid to lose people you thought were friends. Everyone wants to see you do well, until you start lapping them around the track. Your spouse will actually be your loudest cheerleader, even though all you ever wanted to impress was others. This is the way. God Bless.
Trump is proving the US no longer needs an Income Tax System that touches at least 180 million people to collect intelligence and presumes guilt until proven innocent.
In Chögyam Trungpa's teachings, "idiot compassion" refers to a misguided form of kindness that stems from the three poisons of Buddhism: grasping, aggression, and delusion. It's a compassion that avoids difficult truths, reinforces unhealthy patterns, and ultimately doesn't help the person in need. Instead of genuine empathy, it's driven by a desire to feel good, avoid conflict, or manipulate others to feel better about oneself.
