The fediverse (Mastodon, Bluesky, etc) culture is so strange to me.
1. Create decentralised social media designed so no one can disrupt your freedom of speech and algorithms don't manipulate you into being stuck in an echo chamber.
2. Build in features like following other people's blocklists so you can censor your feed and trap yourself in an echo chamber.

Next time someone says we gotta trust Big Pharma they know what's best for us type shit I'm gonna sit them down on one of those Clockwork Orange chairs and make them watch Dopesick.
"But that's different than mRNA vaccines!"
They're different situations sure. But fundamentally, releasing something they know didn't work as claimed then just lying about the safety and efficacy of the medicine so they can make billions in profit is the same fucking thing whether it's opioids, vaccines, or even if it was headache pills and cough syrup.
Doesn't mean all medicine is bad obviously. But it does mean it's a good idea to do your own research and come to your own conclusions on any given treatment, especially when it's a new one that's only had data published by the company selling it. Unbiased third party clinical research takes time and money.
Random rant I just wanted to get off my chest ๐
Apologies to the modern horrors 2 Hive Talk, I got sent a link to it last night and thought it was a big group chat or something... I still have no idea wtf it actually was, but sorry for crashing it ๐
I'm legit reaching that point in adulthood where I'm happy to just be myself around people instead of modify my behaviour. And it's probably one of the best things that could have happened to me. Used to be ashamed of who I am (high functioning autistic) but at the end of the day being who I am attracts real friends, like chosen family type shit, is less stressful, and I immediately know if someone actually likes me or not, cuz I'm very love or hate it seems.
Sorry if this is babbling nonsense. An still very very baked.
I was just scrolling on Amethyst thinking "I'm sure I've seen all this before."
Took a few minutes to realise I'm scrolling my own profile's boosted notes.
