GM Nostr friends. It's been a while, sorry about that. Been insanely busy this past weekend helping Hubby with chores around Mama Baer's house getting things finalized before she signs the papers to sell this Thursday (whee!), and got in a long bike ride on Saturday. Sunday was church, and then I had to work several hours to load a bunch of files and run processes so I wouldn't be behind come Monday. Took longer than I planned, so the day was kind of a wash. Yesterday was just nonstop busy-ness, and I had a job interview(!!!) with a team still within the University that my friend is on. I only found out about it on Friday, so had basically no time to prepare. I felt like it just went okay, but my friend said it was great. Really hoping to find out soon. I'm completely burned out on my current job and the people. Rainy day today, so that makes my walks with Lu pretty short. Kinda nice, but it is good to get up and away from the monitor for a while. Hey #AskNostr Hubby and I are going to be in Vancouver before and after our cruise at the beginning of July. What are some sights we need to see, and where are some good eats? We'll be right around Canada Place before the cruise, and in the Richmond area after. No car, so either by foot or bus are our options.

GM Nostr friends. It's Tuesday! Taco Tuesday, for those who celebrate. Amid all these posts about AI this and that, all I really want is a pair of glasses where I don't have to constantly clean off bits of dust and schmutz. Don't get me wrong - AI has its uses, but I would much rather not have to wonder if that tiny piece of something is on the inside or outside!

GM Nostr friends. Pour half of a protein shake over a half cup of oats and add in a cup of frozen blueberries = breakfast! (Also coffee, but that's separate.) I've been noticing silver strands starting in my hair the last year or so. Hard to believe I'm (approaching) middle aged. Seems like my 20s were just yesterday. Still, wouldn't go back. So much life and learning has happened since then. End of this month is my birthday. I've always loved June. My parents made it feel extra special when I was a kid. This will be my first birthday with both of them gone now. Well anyway, enough mauldin thoughts. The birds are chirping praise to our Creator, the sun is shining, Lu is on the mend (it's a respiratory infection of a different flavor - not kennel cough as we expected), and my coffee is cold and delicious. Enjoy your Wednesday, all.

This is the saddest thing I've seen recently. We're not sure what happened, but its mate stayed by its side for several minutes, even when we approached. 😭

GM Nostr friends. Happy Friday! No meetings on the calendar today. Hallelujah! It's been a week that leaves me feeling like my brain is wrapped in wet wool at the end of each day. Very much looking forward to a day where I can actually get some stuff done. Hubby and I are talking about driving somewhere and going biking for a few hours this weekend. Hopefully the weather holds out. I applied for a position on my friend's team yesterday afternoon. It's another business analyst job, so that wouldn't be any difference, but possibly more pay and I'd be outside the financial aid world for the first time in my whole work life. Would be a challenge, but I'm very hopeful I can get it. 🤞 Sit back, and enjoy the ride!

GM Nostr friends. I couldn't figure out why yesterday and this morning I was only seeing my own posts and nothing else. Somehow, all my follows got wiped again. Sigh. This is getting irritating. Thankfully I had saved a backup. 🤨😠 Laundry is in the wash currently thumping around. No coffee today, but a cold can of yerba mate with mint followed by a Irish cream flavored mug of Teecino. Lu is going to get a bath and haircut this afternoon, so soon no more fuzzy baby - just slightly bewildered pup with a summer 'do. She always looks about 1/4 of her size after a cut. I miss her face fuzz, but much easier to clean up after dinner. Happy Thursday, fam. Enjoy your day, get out and soak up some sun if your local weather permits!

@beejay I got my fresh batch of jerky, and I am obsessed with the curry fire flavor. Ate a whole pack in one sitting, and tempted to go back for more. You somehow condensed the perfect smell/scent combo of my favorite Indian restaurant into a strip of meat. 😵🤯

Good evening Nostr friends. I met a friend for dinner tonight, now home and listening to Hubby trying to video chat with his mom and direct her how to reset a password for an account. 🤪 Some things, even Nostr doesn't fix. Lu is begging me to go out for her evening walkies, so that's all for now.

GM Nostr friends! It's trash day, so listening to the cacophony (man, I had trouble spelling that) of banging and crashing and brakes squealing outside right now. I've been waking up 30-45 minutes before my alarm is set to go off every day for probably about the last week. Not sure what that's about - I just open my eyes, and I'm wide awake. It's a new sensation. Hubby and I took our new bikes for a spin last night, which turned into a five mile ride because we just wanted to see where a trail ended. On the ride home we took some different twists and turns, and I almost un-alived myself by taking a turn a bit too fast that had some dirt, leaves, and little bits of branches strewn across the road. As it happened, I went off the path and almost hit a tree before I was able to get my feet down and throw myself and the bike off to the left. Didn't fall off, but I did get whipped in the butt by some foliage on the way down. Thankfully Hubby was ahead of me and didn't see it happen. 😩 Overall it was a ton of fun. We're planning to do some day trips to put some miles on and see the sights. I'm looking forward to it!
