I have been trying to grow peppers for a few years now and something always goes wrong. The last batch of seedling I grew ended up dying because I was in the throes of taking care of a newborn and completely forgot about them. I got around to planting new seeds and finally got the seedlings in the ground last week. Needless to say I was overjoyed to see some late season flowers on these tiny plants. Hoping that we have a tiny yield before it gets too cold. #homestead #growster #grownoster #garden #zone9b

Today on the #homestead I’m testing out my new seed trays with this batch of herbs. If the seeds pop we will have peppermint, dill, cilantro, thyme, sorrel and catnip. They are under the grow lights for a 12 hour cycle and being watered from the bottom to encourage deep root growth. Crossing my fingers that these prime conditions will result in healthy plants. #garden #zone9b #grownost #growster

Yesterday on the #homestead I rolled up on the crew (Milton the tortoise, Lynx the cat and Fluffeet the chicken) having a meeting without me. I wonder what they were discussing 🤔 Reminds me of a book I read to my kiddos when they were young called Click ,clack, moo. Cows that type, where the cows find an old typewriter in the barn and use it to make requests of the farmer for themselves and the other farm animals.

Today on the #homestead our chicken, Fluffeet, who was the only survivor after two raccoon attacks, finally laid her first eggs! I think having the chicks around got her happy hen hormones going 🤣

When you need help with gate repairs I suggest recruiting a teen vs a tortoise. The tortoise was not very helpful. #homestead
