Some people want to own the whole world, and it’s still not enough for them. Straight-up pathological insanity, beyond any logic. And these lunatics are the ones we let run the show. View quoted note →

You know what the problem is with the whole online Bitcoiner scene? No matter if big influencer or small opinion guy? They all just talk theory. A bunch of overcomplicated, theoretical nonsense. Mixed with lots of ideology. But you know what Bitcoin noobs actually need? Practical info. Stuff about tools, exchanges, their differences ... that kind of stuff. Who can list all the main differences between Pocket Bitcoin and Wave.Space, for example? Or how to send your Nostr zaps to self-custody in a cold wallet? At this point I've tested so many exchanges, wallets, and services that I could easily do it. Seriously. But since that kind of knowledge seems pretty rare online I keep it for my consulting work. You can keep theorizing about Bitcoin and throwing around slogans if that's what gets you excited. So that’s what they mean when they talk about "Bitcoin education". Actual hands-on knowledge doesn’t seem to count.

Interesting report. Bitcoin adoption there isn’t actually that advanced. People still use and need fiat cash. It's partly because of the intellectual barrier, but also because of fiat Bitcoiners. Because instead of helping things move forward in the right direction, these fiat Bitcoiner tourists from the West are hodling their stack and spending cash instead. While at the same time driving up property prices there. Honestly, these fiat Bitcoiners mess everything up, even a local grassroots movement like in El Salvador where Bitcoin is a legally recognized currency.

Told you so. Most of these "Bitcoiners" are in for fiat profits. To them, BTC is just a better NVIDIA stock. Fiat-Bitcoiners. F U all, you're the reason we can't have nice things like a circular economy and financial freedom. View quoted note →

Nostr conferences are probably the most un-Nostr thing out there. Nostr users meet up in one *central* location, usually in the US. How about doing a virtual conference instead, spread across all nodes and connected through relays? That would be in the spirit of Nostr, decentralized.

Some of you are like, “Nostr is sooo cool… Nostr is the future of the internet,” and so on. Step out of your bubble for a second. The internet is huge. Seems like you forgot. If you actually spend some time looking at what’s out there, you’ll realize just how much of a bubble this is here. Or social media in general. It all starts sounding like illusioned wannabe-influencer talk. And Nostr suddenly feels so small. Also, how about finally making sure everything in this ecosystem is actually available more consistently and the usability is at least halfway decent? Other bubbles out there are way ahead in that regard. When’s CRUD finally gonna be implemented? Maybe focus on the basics for once. And what do you think, maybe in like 50 years we’ll finally be able to start talking about accessibility? You know, “the internet is for everyone” and all that? Or is it still gonna be the same old “hmm yeah ... decentralized ... tricky” excuses and a 🖕, to the 10% of people with disabilities? Or hey, have fun staying your bubble. I don’t care. I just laugh at excuses these days. Ever-Betas.

Has anyone here heard of Atomic Mail? They claim to still be in beta, say they’re more user-friendly and secure than ProtonMail, have been developing their email service since 2024, and offer unlimited space. LLM tools haven’t found any investors, and according to the team, they plan to fund themselves through premium services. But they've been around for a year already and keep developing. Closed-source. How’s that even possible? How do they keep the lights on? Intelligence agencies? Honeypot?

I read from someone who heard from AI engineers that you can get ChatGPT to talk less bullshit. You know how it sometimes gets too chatty or throws in these fluffy phrases to keep you engaged or make you ask more questions? To fix that, you just need to customize its style. Go to "Settings" (click your profile pic in the top right), then choose "Personalization" and go to "Custom Instructions". In the field that says "What traits should ChatGPT have?" you type in: "Pragmatic, straightforward, no bullshit. Adjust to my tone. Clear and direct. No pseudo-phrases. Complete sentences. No hallucination. I want a realistic assessment, both understandable and direct, as if you were actually helping and not just coddling." image

It's official now! The meat on the döner skewer is worth more than the cash in the shop’s register.

My new thesis is that LLMs ("AI") is the latest marketing scam to collect data.

'Id al-Adha is just around the corner. Muslims who want to donate directly to @OrphansOfUgandaChildrenCenter , without any middleman and in Bitcoin, can do so at this address. You can use either the Lightning address or the last button below for the On-Chain address. I've received the preliminary prices (they will obviously go up as 'Id al-Adha approaches): - A cow: 1,000,000 - 1,500,000 Sats - 1 sheep or goat: 150,000 to 200,000 Sats I've been doing this for years, and they always provide nice "proof videos" showing that the animals were slaughtered in your name.

I just canceled Kinsta, my web host, for three reasons: - They don't accept Bitcoin. - They made 2FA mandatory for everyone instead of allowing nsec logins through an extension. - Everything is based on Google Cloud. Not interested in that. ... and told them so. Yeah, everyone needs to keep up with the times, or it's goodbye.
