Yeah, I'm all for that too. It just doesn't make sense to let encrypted messages hang around in relays forever. Having them go through relays at all is already unnecessary. I'd much rather have direct P2P communication instead. I've been thinking about this all the time and holding off on implementing DMs in #NoorNote because of it. To me, direct messages don't belong on any relays at all. And if they do, they should get reliably deleted right after delivery. Anyone want to step up and build a solid inbox relay? We need that infrastructure. @NoorNode , @ابو Ω…Ψ±ΩŠΩ… ? View quoted note β†’

Know what I think the biggest problem with organized work these days is? It's not fiat, it's not money. It's people having no backbone when you try to work with them. Back in the day, it used to be "a man's word is his bond." But now? Almost everyone lies, swears up and down, makes quick promises just to forget them two hours later. This isn't just isolated incidents anymore. It's become an epidemic. Picture this: Boss asks his app developer "why did our app get kicked off the Play Store?" Developer says "I'll figure it out right away." A week goes by. Boss asks again. Developer says "I was gonna handle it this week." Another week passes. Nothing. This dumbass doesn't even reach out and say "sorry, I promised I'd take care of this but..." Nah, you gotta chase this jerk down for the third time. He could've just said "I don't care" or "I don't have time for this" like a real man. He's a freelancer after all. You can't boss him around. He can do whatever he wants. But no, he makes a promise so casually, like it means nothing. Then he ghosts you. Not once, not twice, but three damn times. And it's like this everywhere, all the time. People freely give you their word, then break it without a second thought. Honestly man, how are you supposed to work with people like that?

Year 2025, end of November. This morning I'm dressed exactly like my dad was most of the time. Conservatively with pleated suit pants. In three shades of gray and black socks. Like a typical Turkish dude in Germany. All those years of rebellion for nothing.

Sometimes in development, you have to be able to check out exactly what's landing on the relays in raw mode. I know there are tools like that out there, I just don't know where. So I built my own Relay Inspector. If a fellow developer here could use it…

View quoted note β†’ That's exactly what I was saying. View quoted note β†’ And for the past week, I've been working on nothing else but lists in #NoorNote. Alhamdulillah, yesterday, I finally nailed down a unified architecture for them. And that opens up new possibilities for future list-based features.

Nostr is kinda like TV from the seventies and eighties. Mornings, nothing's going on, then around noon you get those boring cultural shows, and the interesting stuff only starts after the sun goes down.
