A little technical article about the local workflow between multiple dev machines. Edge case. Not for everyone. But maybe it'll help one or two people out there. View article →

Speaking of bloated slop ... Adobe Acrobat Reader. Just to quickly open and read a PDF file. Why does it need over 2 GB of hard disk space? Evil software is software that does things the user doesn't want. image

This will be a very different Nostr year. At least for me. A lot of new concepts, less zaps. Lots of innovation, little agreement. Whatever. Who breaks free from their dopamine addiction wins.

You are not getting Nostr right if you center everything around the concept of 'following'. Build your clients in a way, that following becomes unnecessary. View quoted note →

If AI is so great and hardware is basically just cheap junk that costs almost nothing, you know, because we exploit poor people for it, then why is there still no small handy simultaneous translator that translates into every language in real time?

I think this product insertion into the normal Nostr feed can really work. Honestly, how often do you visit a Nostr marketplace? But your normal Nostr client is open almost every day. And for the first time, I'm discovering that someone I follow actually sells a product that I've always wanted to buy. But so far, I've only seen providers from overseas; this one is right around the corner and delivers to me. The concept could actually work, even from a market perspective. And I like having products sprinkled into my feed, because I know I can buy all of them with Sats. If anyone wants to give it a try, head over to (the web version is always further along, with fewer bugs, + now it even has product bookmarking). Then turn on the Marketplace in the Addon Settings and let a few products get added to your feed. View quoted note →

Clique building on Nostr is brutal. If you're in it, you get celebrated for every little fart. If you're out, nobody notices anything from you. It's not about quality, it's about relationships. It's an unholy clique. And they want to solidify it even more with all these poorly thought out WoT mechanisms. That's one of the main reasons I want broad adoption. So that this group's interpretive dominance gets broken up and split among several other groups.

Nostr isn't just posting notes, Nostr is also about commerce. But what's the point of putting your products on the marketplace if hardly anyone stops by to check it out? image That's why #NoorNote also shows the products from the people you follow right on your timeline. image If you want. As often as you want. Yeah, Nostr can now display product ads too, but the user controls whether that happens and how often. image It's released right now in version 0.6.0. A bit beta since it hasn't been fully tested out in the wild yet. Feedback and bug reports are totally welcome. Oh and the whole thing is implemented like an addon (new architecture). That means you can turn this feature on and off. When it's off, no marketplace code gets loaded into the app, and your client stays just like it was before.
