Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them a bad person.
Just because someone agrees with you doesn't make them a good person.
You shouldn't judge someone based upon their opinions. Rather, character should be judged by the rationale someone uses to form those opinions.

Currently reading "26 Words that Changed the Internet" which is about the legal battles in the 1990s over liability for publishing defamatory/obscene/illegal content that led to the words of Section 230:
"No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider."
It's fascinating to see the parallels from 30 years ago to the Bitcoin Puritan movement of today. Hilariously enough, one of the common arguments by conservatives in the 1990s was that if we allowed the internet to be flooded with pornographic content, it would kill adoption and people would stop using the internet. ๐
It's generally agreed that Section 230 of the Communications Act of 1934 is what allowed the internet as we know it to flourish by protecting freedom of speech in cyberspace. I dare say that these 26 words are also what protect node runners in America from having to worry about legal liability from distributing obscene content.
In short, if you're a content distributor you are not liable for distributing obscene content if you are unaware of it. And distributors are NOT expected to police or moderate the information that flows through their service as a result of user interaction.
Looks like @Wicked just dropped the GOAT Casascius coin explorer!

Hello, my name is Jameson and I'm addicted to jeering at folks who are confident in their flawed understanding of how Bitcoin works.
Pour one out for Poland. ๐คค
Looks like Spaniards and Austrians are quite diligent about updating their nodes!

OH GAWD BITCOIN IS DROPPING
ENJOY THE RIDE

It's even better to just do what you want without caring if others get mad about it.

It's rather amusing to ask an LLM a question and then see it scanning my own personal blog for an answer. ๐
Thankfully I brought both my computer science degree and my autism with me, along with a healthy disrespect for puritanical screeching.

The devs for a world building strategy game I play had a server crash so they decided to dole out some apology items for the inconvenience.
But their script screwed up the calculation and gave me a quarter million of a rare resource item I usually only have a few hundred of.
Realizing that the devs would try to revert their mistake, I quickly engaged in several thousand trades to swap for other items and consume as much resources as possible.
A few hours later the devs sent a message saying they reverted the error, but I still have all of my other items. Success!
I wonder if this is what money laundering feels like...
I'm here to spew thoughts and resist censorship

This is what happens to folks who take @Matthew Kratter seriously ๐

Technically it's illegal in many jurisdictions to record a phone call without consent.
But if the counterparty is a social engineer who is trying to stay anonymous and defraud me, WTF are they gonna do? Sue me? ๐๐๐
