maybe theyre consistent, but they're not right.
artificially constricting blockspace and ruining L1 UX in favor of LN and SoV/Gold 2.0 narrative was NOT a good design choice.
nodes can be heavy enough to run on an average machine. every user isnt going to run a full node anyway. they can be run by Uncle Jim or paid services.

open source software works by allowing people to build whatever they are excited about building.
if we aren't physically building the tools ourselves, our job is to support their building by using the tools and learning/educating about them.
and in some unpredictable, clumsy and unknowable way, we all end up with better tools in the end.
