A while back we made a post to #asknostr who their favourite power trio was, and the overwhelming consensus was Rush! As fellow Canadians, we loved that! Beyond being Canadian, we actually have quite a bit in common with the GOAT of #Canadian rock bands: we are a power trio, our bass player is also our lead singer, we also have a member named Alex, we write a few longer songs that stray from the verse-chorus structure. However, a really cool commonality we want to share is that we grew up in the same little town that Neil Peart did, called St. Catharines. In this town is a port with a park called Lakeside Park. That might sound familiar to you because the third song from Rush's third album is called Lakeside Park. Within the first few lines of the song there is a reference to a "merry-go-round wheezing the same old melody". While it is closed for the winter right now, I wanted to share some photos of this timeless little piece of rock history with you that inspired this song and we are happy to be a small part of! #music #v4vmusic #canada
