Playing Powrinata, oops I mean Pragmata. So far it’s been okay as an action puzzle shooter. Not many AA or AAA games since the DS and 3DS era have really leaned into this kind of hybrid gameplay. The last one I remember doing something similar is The World Ends With You and Henry Hatsworth.
That said, the game runs into that modern design issue you see in stuff like BOTW or even Netflix-style pacing. It feels like everything is built around keeping the player or viewer constantly engaged. There is always something happening, something to pick up, something to upgrade. It ends up feeling a bit bloated. You barely get time to enjoy the lower tier tools or mechanics unless you go out of your way to slow down.
It all feels very intentional, like it is designed for shorter attention spans or for streamers who need constant things to react to while talking to their audience. I am pretty sure I have already missed a bunch of dialogue from Diana because she reacts to EVERYTHING you did during the gameplay when you come back to the base. And man, the game really incentivizes you to return there, it feels like you are being pulled back every few minutes, at least so far.
