Gonna throw this out into the void on the weird off chance it helps anyone. If you're trying to connect to your hermes dashboard over FIPS, either through the web or through Hermes Go (the android app), you will need to launch the dashboard with hermes dashboard --host :: rather than hermes dashboard --host 0.0.0.0. This may be obvious, but 0.0.0.0 only binds to all ipv4 interfaces, but connections over ipv6, which FIPS of course uses, will fail. Once you've got that going right though, using FIPS2go and Hermes Go on Android becomes a piece of cake to connect into your full dashboard. If for any reason connecting purely over Whitenoise isn't enough for you. Either way it's happening over Nostr. #FIPS #Hermes #clankers

I fed Hermes my list of recipe links I've suffered with for years. It scraped them, applied a schema of metadata, and fed it out as a folder in my Obsidian vault. Fuck yes, so done scrolling through food blogs.

But just in case anyone else you know is not in the loop enough to realize that this is not an optional fucking step, give it a good read. Shocking someone could be in Bitcoin for 10 years and fall prey to such a fairly basic attack, simply by choosing to put a man in the middle of his transaction. Run your own node, and if you rely on an electrum server (most wallets these days seem to), run your own electrum server. #Bitcoin #Security

GM Not the first post of the morning, but the other one didn't feel like a GM post. Just found out that Amon Amarth put out a new album a month ago. This is definitely the time of year I bust out more viking metal anyway, so it's quite welcome to mix things up with. Got some interesting new things they're doing with the sound. I guess they always mix it up a little from prior albums. Something good for the gym, or when doing manual labor to keep the adrenaline going and the eyes aflame.
