After turning down a totally unlit dirt road into darkness, we got greeted by the chef and 5 dogs atthis place. The chef explained in very cheerful Spanish that they had 'langosta, pescado, camarones, ensalada, y piña coladas.' Which we said sounded lovely. They proceeded to sit us at a table under a palm tree (nobody else was around) and then 10-15 minute later served this GIANT platter of all of it. While the pack of the most well behaved stray dogs kept us company (but didn't engage in anything close to begging).
If you go to the DR and eat at these fancy Italian, French, and Spanish food places, you're really just robbing yourself of a much more pleasant experience.
