Here's a quick tip when it comes to debates that I've noticed helped: Always start from the micro level. In other words, focus on the isolated person (autarky) and expand from there to the macro level (society). It will make sure you're grounded, especially for economic topics. Take the ECP, for example. Talking about market prices isn't enough. You gotta bring up how they're formed in the first place, which is through private property, which is based on differences, and then exchange before prices. I've noticed this particularly is useful against the neo-Marxists.
