It can be read in about an hour and is available for free online. There is much wisdom to be found in it, among the madness. In so many ways, Theodore Kaczynski (1942-2023) was ahead of his time. He just let what he understood drive him insane, instead of channeling it productively. During the time of his active years as a terrorist (1978-1995), there just weren't the same tools we have today for peaceful, yet effective resistance. He saw a problem, but he could not see any solutions besides withdrawing to an isolated existence in the woods and prosecuting a campaign of violence against those he felt were responsible. If he had been born a few decades later, he may well have been a valuable member of this freedom tech revolution we're all participating in, using Bitcoin, privacy tools, and publishing written works on Nostr to communicate his ideas to a wider audience. It is a fine line between genius and madness, and often it is the context one finds themself in that determines to which side of the knife's edge they fall when the fateful cut is made.
