My musical taste runs from Motown to 70’s rock to Grunge to heavy metal/industrial. Maybe even a little dubstep or EDM. However, I consider Upstairs at Eric’s one of the best albums of all time. Definitely one of my top five. Simple yet moving lyrics with accompanying music that is more of a study in how sound waves can evoke emotions more than putting together melodies or rhythms to make a catchy song. Abstract yet simple, post-modern but relatable. Even if this isn’t “your kind of music” I highly recommend giving this album a good old fashioned complete listen through.
