LONG POST AHEAD.
God Gave Me a Story to Tell.
It all started on December 25, 2025. Something happened that triggered everything—a scare that spiraled into panic attacks, anxiety, and eventually, depression. I don't want to go into all the details, but little did everyone know, I slowly disappeared.
I isolated myself from the people I loved. I stayed inside my room, locked away with my own thoughts. Messages went unread. I left group chats that once brought me joy. The people who knew me as cheerful and full of life probably wondered where I went.
In short, I became a prisoner of my own darkness.
The woman people called a "ray of sunshine" vanished. There wasn't a single day that I didn't cry. I was broken—physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and worst of all, spiritually.
The prayer warrior I used to be became silent.
I got angry with God. I questioned Him. I complained to Him. I doubted Him.
There came a point where I genuinely wanted to die. Every morning I would wake up and whisper, "Ah... buhay pa ako?"
Some people may think that's selfish. But when you're drowning in depression, your mind convinces you that disappearing is the greatest gift you can give yourself—and everyone else.
My only prayer during that season was:
"Lord, kung kukunin Mo na ako, isang pakiusap lang. Alisin Mo na lang ang memories ko sa mga anak ko. Huwag Mong hayaang lumaki silang katulad ko—na memories na lang ang pinanghahawakan sa magulang."
I even said goodbye to Ken. I apologized for everything. In my heart, I was ready.
But God wasn't finished with me.
He met me in the place I feared the most.
Three times, He sent me to the Emergency Room.
Anyone who truly knows me knows how terrified I am of doctors and hospitals. Walking into the ER made my entire body shake. I had to breathe into a brown paper bag just to calm myself.
Those ER visits became some of the biggest eye-openers of my life.
The ER felt like standing at the edge between life and death.
I heard ambulance sirens. I heard doctors calling for the ICU. I saw people being rushed for CT scans. I watched families waiting anxiously, praying that their loved ones would survive. Those are way too much for me to see.
And then something shifted inside me.
I realized that while I had been begging God to let me die...
The people around me were begging Him for one more chance to live.
Compared to the people I met in that ER, I was blessed. Every single time, I was sent home.
Looking back now, I believe God wasn't punishing me.
He was gently opening my eyes.
He was reminding me that life—even when it hurts—is still a gift.
And maybe... just maybe... He was telling me that my story wasn't ending there.
It was only beginning.
Today, I can finally say that I'm still here—not because I was strong enough to survive on my own, but because God carried me through the days when I no longer wanted to live.
Healing isn't linear. There are still hard days. There are still moments when fear tries to creep back in. But now I know that even in the darkest valleys, God never left me.
If you're reading this and you're silently fighting battles no one knows about, please hear me: you are not alone. Your story is not over. There is hope, even if you can't see it yet.
This season has given me a new purpose.
I want to become an advocate for mental health—not because I have all the answers, but because I've lived through the darkness. I know what it feels like to smile on the outside while silently falling apart inside. I know what it feels like to think that everyone would be better off without you.
And if sharing my story can help even one person choose to stay, to seek help, to pray one more prayer, or to believe that tomorrow can be better, then every tear I've cried will have a purpose.
This is no longer just my story.
It's my testimony.
And I pray that through it, someone else finds the courage to keep living.
This is me now. Entering my 'getting my pink back' era. Slowly finding my way back to me one day at a time. 🦩🤍
Thank you, Lord, for better days.
