Tales of a wise rabbit:
Hitchhiking to OFF.
@Fidel and me packed our stuff in the morning, ate a big bowl of oatmeal to fill our stomachs for an adventurous day and headed off to the bus that would bring us towards the highway.
Our best worst idea of the day, was buying a bunch of tabaco to trade for favors in Norway, after we decided to stop smoking yesterday evening.
A pack worth 10k sats here costs 50k sats in Norway.
Our first ride was with Omar and his son Alan.
We hastily boarded their car, because the lights were about to turn green and Germans don’t like to be held from driving recklessly.
10 min later we were at the first gas station and happy we made it there before 13:12.
Unfortunately no one would take us for some time, because either to scared, to full or different direction, until we met Oliver.
Oliver owns a bar in Münster and was on his way back home from a road-trip along Rhine and Mosel. His Oldtimer Cabrio had just the amount of space left for the two of us.
The next 1,5h I was meditating in the back seat while having a hurricane blowing through my hair.
Oliver’s friend, a Bitcoin Maxi, influenced him to stack sats, which we supported with glee.
Before we parted, we took pictures, because Oliver said no one at home would believe his story.
We waited for roughly 30 min until we met Gregor.
Gregor owns a business that repairs and upcycles medical equipment. We spoke about Liberty, empowering the individual and portfolio theory.
Just before Bremen he dropped us of handing each of us a fiat token of appreciation.
Yes, you can ride with people for free and get paid for it.
At the next gas station we met a danish couple again, who were really surprised to see us again, since we asked them before if they were heading north, unfortunately their Mercedes was full with wine from their vacation in France.
In order to find a ride asap, Fidel and I shared responsibilities. One at the gas station, the other at the restaurant. And while I was trying to convince some Dutch people to play a little more Tetris with their luggage to fit us, Fidel was waving at me from inside Nils car.
Nils works as a firefighter at Düsseldorf Airport and was going north of Hamburg to visit his girlfriend. Jackpot. Getting around huge cities isn’t easy, but Nils was our ride towards the gates of Scandinavia.
He dropped us off at Holmmoor and we tried to continue our journey until we gave up around sunset.
We asked some locals for good spots to crash for one night, they couldn’t help us, but Ramon gave us fiat tokens to buy beers/or food.
We saved some food/leftovers from the restaurant of the gas station and started to look for a suitable spot to spend the night.
We didn’t have to search for long, and found shelter in a cute little hut, that has hunting vibes, overseeing the neighborhood.
