#NEW: 26 year old therapist, Sofia Ann-Buitron Drotts arrested for allegedly having sex with a black 14 year old patient.
Sofia Ann-Buitron Drotts, a 26-year-old San Francisco resident and former behavioral health clinician for Contra Costa County, worked at John A. Davis Juvenile Hall, where she was assigned to counsel a boy who entered the facility in 2024 at age 14. Investigators allege that over the roughly two years he was detained, she cultivated an inappropriate emotional attachment with him — conduct consistent with grooming.
After he was released in April 2026 at age 17, prosecutors allege the two engaged in a sexual relationship spanning April 1 through July 14, which included him staying overnight at her residence. She was taken into custody by Concord police on July 14 following a tip from a probation officer.
She now faces seven felony charges: two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, two counts of oral copulation with a minor, one count of sexual penetration with a foreign object, two counts of distributing harmful material to a minor, and one count of possessing child pornography. The boy's family has also filed a civil claim against the county, alleging inadequate oversight. She has not yet been arraigned.
