I’m leaving this one pinned on The Raven’s Nest and it addresses how things will be moving forward for The Raven’s Nest and Against All Odds (including The Nocturneverse). I made this to address the noise I left and the noise I’ll just no longer tolerate and the reasons why. I’m looking for people who echo what @John Watson - Horror Author stated that, while we’d love to drone on about whatever the Current Thing is, personally but the work of creating just takes precedence now. If the noise is more important to you, it’s understandable. It’s just not to me anymore.

The Nocturneverse is Now 100% Ours — No Strings Attached My co-author and I have finished the big purge: every single reference to White Wolf, Paradox Interactive, Onyx Path, or any of their IP is gone. Completely stripped out. We could’ve gone the easy route and submitted to Storytellers Vault. But that would’ve meant approval gates, editorial notes, and granting an exclusive perpetual license that could let someone else mess with our characters in ways we’d never approve of. Obviously, that's a hard pass. So we took the difficult road instead. We rebuilt everything from the ground up, rooted in public-domain folklore, Germanic/Slavic undead traditions, and mythic horror. What’s left is our world, our characters, our rules. If you have been craving original work, here it is. If you still want to use something like Thousand Year Old Vampire or White Wolf 2E mechanics for your own private games and then write stories in The Nocturneverse, go for it. Just make sure what you publish here breaks completely away from any game mechanics, system names, or direct references. Keep it folklore-based and original — that’s all we ask. One last revision is coming (a killer New Orleans show closer for Nocturnal Shadows — trust me, it’s worth the wait), and then I’ll be working on: A Lore Bible Publisher/legal-facing documents Three appendices so far Clear guidelines for how we express these monsters (keeps everyone legally safe while expanding the shared universe wide open) Guideline #1 (Non-Negotiable): Zero real-world politics. None. Zero. Nothing kills a fictional world faster than dragging in partisan fights. No lectures, no side-taking, no calling readers shitty people. Write about cool, terrifying monsters or go scream into the Twitter rage chamber. Those are the options. If you’re ready to play in this sandbox, dive in. The night is wide open. Feels like I've belly-crawled through broken glass. Then through a salt flat. But at least they gave me a pool of alcohol to soak in so the infection wouldn't set in. Particularly proud of how By The Light of The Moon pt II turned out.

The Cleaning Process Begins

Nocturneverse Announcement: It's about to look extremely different due to legal reasons and it's going to take awhile. If you wanted to catch up, now’s the best time. Draven as a character and the Title conventions have to change, I'm only on By The Light of The Moon pt. 2 and already, I have to tear out major sections. Some are going to have to be completely rewritten and for Sheffield United fans, for legal reasons, Draven can't be a fan of the team. So, expect major changes and pray this doesn't have the same cascading effect that changing a rule in D&D 5E would have.
