Aside from being a full-time BTC engineer, I'm a father to amazing children and a husband to an incredible wife.
Family is the whole reason I'm in Bitcoin.
So what happened with the Coldcard hack isn't a tech story to me. Families lost generational wealth. Parents who did everything "right" are sitting at kitchen tables tonight, trying to find the words to tell their partner that the family's savings are gone. That's more than lost sats — that's broken trust, and children's futures at risk.
I can't undo any of it and honestly, I don't know if this is the right time to open-source anything. But sitting on a tool that might help even one family rebuild felt worse than the risk of bad timing.
I just open-sourced SeedTapper — the machine I built to engrave my own family's seed plates. Air-gapped Pi 5 + fiber laser. Scan a SeedQR , verify it on screen, engrave it in titanium. No network. No disk. Nothing to trust except code you can read.
