Why is the job-search process so... bad? It's not even a technological problem, it's a human problem.

I know what my next blog post will be about.
Nobody asked for it, and it's ten months too late, but this is what I thought of that killer-doll movie M3GAN.

Not sure how my settings got changed to receive e-mail notifications every time I get a reply on Mastodon, but fortunately Mastodon makes that easy to change.
@npub145su...jzze has a great interview with Ken Graham, noted game developer and co-founder of the Game Preserve in Houston.

Has a popular comic-book franchise recently entered the public domain? Consider the Rarebit webcomic template for your own adaptation. Rarebit allows you to self-host your webcomic, and all JS is open-source. (I am unaffiliated with Rarebit, I am merely passing the word along)

David Baerwald, of the band David & David, plays one of my favorite songs, Welcome to the Boomtown.
Going to stay off Twitter for a while.
I tried to have a video call on Jitsi Meet last night. It seems calls on the site now require a moderator, and to become a moderator one must log in through Google, Facebook, or... GitHub. Has anyone else seen this?
The Time Machine by HG Wells, now updated on Nantucket E-Books. https://nantucketebooks.com/timemachine Can you *believe* that fantastic artwork is in the public domain? #freeculture

I got a call today, a telemarketing firm wanting to redesign my personal website. He asked to show me his firm's portfolio. His firm's website was trying to run at least thirteen JavaScript files.
GNU LibreJS is a good tool for people to see how much proprietary software most sites require. For developers, it can be annoying because of how long it takes the extension to recognize an update. Some combination of uninstalling/reinstalling the extension, rebooting the computer, and restarting the browser mostly works.
In spite of these frustrations, I am proud to be the only interactive e-book platform compatible with GNU LibreJS.
Winnie-the-Pooh has been updated on Nantucket E-Books. As with the past version, all images have alt text. https://nantucketebooks.com/winnie-the-pooh

When your site doesn't have ads, it won't pester visitors about using an ad blocker. #nantucketebooks
In a Nantucket E-Book, the favicon is stored as a base-64 string. The favicon is small enough that it was reasonable to store it as a string, rather than make a GET request to the server.
I am noticing that one particular web scraper keeps requesting that string in the root folder of the site. I'd like to find a way to politely decline its requests.
As a writer and software developer, I owe a lot to Bram Moolenar. I never interacted with him, but his program Vim has had a big impact on my life. He passed away this week. https://groups.google.com/g/vim_announce/c/tWahca9zkt4?pli=1
#SongsThatGetStuckInYourHead Here are some that have tormented me:
* Theme from Amphibia
* The IMP jingle from Helluva Boss
* Theme from Urusei Yatsura
* Hydrogen from the Hotline Miami OST
* The 'Polka Face' medley by Weird Al
Everyone welcome @npub145su...jzze to Mastodon. AT is a good friend of mine, and a writer for Quarter Up, the Harlan Ellison directory (introduced me to Ellison's work), and Nantucket E-Books. Super-talented editor and VA as well. You should follow him!
