This privacy project of mine has been very revealing, pun intended. I wanted to create an anonymous npub and see how well I could be active while not leaking any information. In the week that I had this npub, I've accidentally or foolishly leaked information 12 different times (that i know of). Most of the time I only found out much later. For example, I was running my IP Tracer on a separate device running Kali and noticed that I accessed nostr multiple times when mullvpn had force closed for some unknown reason. I could see my ip traffic quite easily. Then I noticed I had posted the same monero subaddress on 2 npubs, dumbass... I sent lightning tips non anonymously multiple times and even once from an old kyc wallet! Honestly, outside of pretending to be someone else with a different personality, sentence structure, and interests, I can't say I did much of anything successfully. Privacy is hard and obviously takes more than just a dedicated plan. Clearly, I'm not there yet. I find myself at a fork in the road on #Nostr . Do I try and speak against the growing popularity of buying #KYC #bitcoin , or do I distance myself from the simps and mind my own business?
