It’s been a while since I opened Damus. Immediately found an irritant: conversations are now split (so neither threaded nor time-ordered) by known contacts and unknown. It would be much better to attach an icon that says “unknown/untrusted” than to make the conversation unreadable like this. Otherwise, Damus is still great, as always.
That person seems to be obsessed with someone who they communicated with in a Reddit subforum. Someone who apparently may have committed s**c*de. They’re probably going to come off as unnecessarily harsh.
> The old Nostr “Telegram” client … I don’t remember that one. But I never used the real Telegram anyway, so I don’t know what it would be like. I did use web-based Nostrgram a couple of times with a temporary key. I also have never set up zaps, so I would have missed that issue anyway.
I saw something that claimed Farcaster had around 45,000 daily active users as of 3 months ago. Having also seen a bunch of whining about the FC’s growth rate versus Nostr’s growth rate, I wonder what Nostr’s estimated active daily user count is. Recognizing that there shouldn’t be any accurate way to measure that, and thus growth rate estimates will always be inaccurate. I have not tried FC, but my impression is that they are pretty centralized in some ways. (And likewise for BlueSky; current design is intentionally centralized)
I am not against pineapple on pizza, but I would not eat it myself. I don’t even like pineapple on pineapple.
