We need to go back to communal living. We live far too isolated for bringing up children happily and successfully. Its an impossible task for women being a stay at home mum nowadays, when grandparents usually live miles away, and the majority of other young mothers are back at work with their children being cared for in institutions. Motgerhood has become lonely and exhausting. Not how its meant to be.

The older I get, the more I understand the profundity of 'mind your own business'. It's just so hard to put in to practice. Why is it always so glaringly obvious what everyone else is doing wrong?!! As I myself go along making crap food choices, movement choices, activity choices ...

How come you are still expected to tip (18% here in Houston!) when in most restaurants you now have to scan the QR code on your table, wade through pages of up-selling, order your own food and make your own payment? I'll happily tip for some decent human interaction. Tis a sad world of zero human connectivity we are heading to. All in the name of 'convenience'.

Airport food the world over is overpriced and rubbish. But today Houston has managed to set the bar of shiteness to new lows - $46 for a plate of overcooked pasta, served on a plastic plate, and a bottle of water. I have to date found no worse country to transit than the US. Unfriendly customs and security staff. Enormous queues everywhere. Treat everyone passing through like illegal scum. Take your fingerprints and scan your eyes even if you aren't wanting to leave the airport. Hardly makes one want to visit the country itself.

My last El Salvadorean sunrise. For now. There is no place too far if it means I get precious time with my children. And I hate flying.

Spending time with people who you love, warts and all, and who love you, warts and all, is balm to the soul.

Don't mess with Mother nature. She will mess right back.
