One look at Ed Sheeran’s chart and you can see why something was going to move. His Sun is at 28° Aquarius, and the February 17, 2026 solar eclipse landed right on it, on his birthday. Pluto moved as close as 5° Aquarius this spring, opposing his Jupiter at 6° Leo, and is now back around 3°, still close to his Saturn at 1° Aquarius. His North Node is in Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, and Saturn in Aquarius leads us to Uranus, now moving toward his Mars at 8° Gemini. Jupiter in Leo is ruled by the Sun, and that Sun was eclipsed. You can almost see the whole chart talking to itself.
Then something happens in the world and the astrology becomes visible. Decisions around his tour, other artists, promoters, and venues put him inside a larger conversation about individual choice, institutions, community, consequence, truth, and ideology. I’m interested in the timing. Pluto opposing Jupiter can pressure a worldview. Pluto on Saturn can expose the structure holding that worldview. Uranus approaching Mars can change the direction of action quickly, especially in Gemini, where action moves through words, decisions, and exchange.
Macklemore’s chart is saturated with Gemini: Sun 27°, Mercury 7°, Mars 23°, North Node 25°. Mars sits right on his evolutionary direction, with the Sun close by. Mercury at 7° Gemini opposes Uranus at 6° Sagittarius, with Jupiter at 3° Sagittarius conjunct Uranus. Saturn at 27° Libra conjunct Pluto at 26° Libra trines his Sun, while his South Node at 25° Sagittarius sits close to Neptune at 27°. Belief, ideology, language, meaning, and what gets said out loud are all tied together.
And then the two charts touch. Macklemore’s Mercury at 7° Gemini sits almost exactly on Ed Sheeran’s Mars at 8° Gemini, while Uranus is moving through the same territory. His words land directly on another person’s action point.
All of this is happening as Venus in Scorpio begins the first of three squares to Pluto in Aquarius: September 15, October 20, December 9. Venus begins a three-month journey into the underworld, where values meet power and whatever is hidden inside relationships, institutions, money, loyalty, and desire has a way of surfacing. I’m curious about what begins to emerge collectively as this cycle unfolds.
This configuration brings a larger evolutionary question: when the collective, the institution, and personal conviction stop moving in the same direction, what does an individual choose to author?
