January asks us to find our own Apollo that enlightens our own Chiron, our most vulnerable point, and it asks for the courage to liberate ourselves from pain by turning instinct into skill and knowledge into medicine. Fascinating. The whole mitochondrial class was superb; I usually get turned off by so much info all at once, and the conversation flowed impeccably. Dr. Alexis Cowan has a way to explain the most nerdy stuff with such ease. “Have more coherence with your biology.” I can attest sunlight is pure health. Since I moved to Miami Beach five and a half years ago, I’ve had the ritual of receiving the day at the break of dawn on my east facing balcony; I also switched my home lighting to red light a year ago, and the increase in energy has been amazing. I’ve had a continuous tan since 2020 when I moved to Florida, and knowing this is a hack against radiation is 🤯🤯🤯🤯; the Chernobyl info!!! I learned new stuff; I geeked; I enjoyed. I could write a whole essay about this superb episode; the best advice is to circulate it. Thank you so much, Efrat and Alexis, for embodying your wisdom and showing others that this is the way to the light; this was the perfect podcast to listen to between December 31st and January 1st. Stanza I Embodying my nervous system Oh Lord, this one is curvy and bold, sincere and curious, courageous and soft, strong when needed. This is my song for 2025. Lord, I do thank you for remembrance. I do thank my soul for listening to my inner voice screaming silence and no more attention, where distracting factors kept me from being kind to my beautiful self. Embracing a softer edge has been the challenge, since I thrive in structure, order, and support. Yet trust needed wisdom that is lived, not read or transmitted even. It needed time to weave and unweave past and no longer vital chords. An air of sadness kept me attentive to observe the times we are leaving behind, with care, in forgiveness and at times forgetfulness that can stem from the yearning to evolve. A practical way to hold the idea in your hands: A pendulum has a fixed point, a length, and a swing; the swing has a period. A string has a fixed point, a length, a tension; it carries standing waves, and those waves have harmonics. A moment of full alignment. I can feel how silence becomes intelligent in a moment like this and how the nervous system registers truth before the mind can and will explain it, and how coherence becomes a form of law that reality responds to. Not long ago, I accepted that the first time I really felt true self love was when I witnessed my mother’s death. And throughout these last two years, I have been able to integrate and rewire my nervous system so I can totally open a space that is very flexible and caring and loving so I hold the divine in me. This is where I want to bring people into a place where the question becomes simple and severe. What happens when I return to inner truth and allow the truth to guide my choices, my timing, my relationships, my speech, my work, and my attention? I want the tone of this piece to hold a threshold because I am watching a collective cycle complete and I’m watching people reach for stories that keep them split. I’m also watching the possibility of a different response, which is trust as a lived orientation, trust as an inner authority, trust as the field that holds me steady when external sanity falls and breaks down.
