End of Japanese community at Mozilla due to the introduction of AI-based translation. The community members have expressed disappointment and frustration that their long term volunteer efforts and local knowledge were being replaced by machine translation, which they felt did not match the quality of human provided support. This is why Mozilla sucks so much, they are going crazy like rest of the industry. Source Added screenshot in case Mozilla decided to remove it image
Anti bloat IDEs. The good old days when you didn't need an internet connection, an API key/LLM subscription to write more bloat. People still built awesome games, apps, and solved real life scientific problems. image
Despite generating $4.3 billion in revenue in the first half of 2025, OpenAI reported a net loss of $13.5 billion. In other words, ignore all sugar coating. They, are losing money heavily They abandoned the goal cancer cure to produce only rewritten text, images, and 10 second meme videos. They're burning capital on millions of GPUs. The classic VC model. Outspend rivals and use others' copyrighted work without solving a single critical problem. No human suffering solved
junior dev: can you please give me an example of useful comments in my code? Me: sure, good comments look like this ⤵️ image
Paperless-ngx is a community supported opensource document management system that transforms your physical documents into a searchable online archive so you can keep, well, less paper. It is a free and opensource app
UK users of Reddit, X, Insta, FB, Bluesky, TikTok, and many other popular platforms are now facing problems. They are being forced to verify their age using government issued IDs and a selfie. All of these for-profit corporations may use this information further for profit or may not even store user information securely. This is a nightmare scenario for many, and I wouldn't be surprised if other governments adopt similar laws.
If any random app asks for government issued IDs with a selfie, it's a major red flag. 🚩 Do not provide them. Please share this warning with all your friends/family. You should only provide government issued ID when it's for something critical, such as: * Getting a passport * Obtaining a citizenship card * Acquiring a driving license * Opening bank accounts Any other request for your ID by any app will likely lead to it being leaked or sold, putting everyone at risk. It's a sad reality
The Tea app is vibe-coded and has over 4 million users. Users' private data was breached, and all government-issued verification IDs, photos, and private messages were leaked. This is why you need a good team of experienced developers, IT and infosec folks to secure your infrastructures. You can’t just vibe code using AI and get away with poor jobs. Now they are going to use the same shity AI in government and everywhere and we will see more such things. What a mess
My IT career spans back to the days we FTP'd straight to production. Pretty sure my first gray hair sprouted right then. And that, my friends, is how you know you're seasoned 🤣
The happiest IT or developer folks I know are all retired ones. I don't think it is a coincidence.
Never obsolete? That is a bold statement computer, from the 2000s. 🫣 image

The Danish government is to clamp down on the creation and dissemination of AI-generated deepfakes by changing copyright law to ensure that everybody has the right to their own body, facial features and voice. The Danish government said on Thursday it would strengthen protection against digital imitations of people’s identities with what it believes to be the first law of its kind in Europe
