In India EV news today, a few 2 wheeler EV OEMs are willing to share any customer data required by the government. First these 2 wheeler EV makers did not comply with FAME II localisation norms—mandating at least 50% of their components in the EVs be indigenously manufactured or locally sourced, because they weren’t able to source local materials. This must have been clear to them at the manufacturing stage. Then they passed on the subsidy to customers for sales numbers. Now after the government asked these EV makers for their share and delisted them from NAB portal, they are requesting them to reinlist without paying the government since somehow it’s unfair to damage a company’s future business because of past wrongdoings. And what about the subsidy that is passed on to the customers? Apparently they can be asked to return the subsidy amount. And for this EV makers are willing to share customer data.
