I love these natural, earthy materials! It will be good to see more local/ natural materials being used in our societies. People are losing their sense of place. Especially with new architecture all looking the same around the world. ‘We can learn from the old’: how architects are returning to the earth to build homes for the future

They just don't build a Macca's like they used to! I really love the Art Deco style and i really hope this building can be be well maintained for future generations. A passer-by asked me if I was there for McDonald's or the building............. Turns out he was a retired building designer who clearly knows his architecture! #photography #maccas #artdeco #architecture image

I can't speak for the United States of America, but here in Australia architects are also overworked and under paid, but unionisation is not the answer. Not yet any way. Unfortunately, conditions aren't good for the businesses either. We have to deregulate the whole industry and fix our broken money before conditions in the sector will improve. If we can do that, and the industry becomes prosperous and the conditions don't change.... then we can have a conversation. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/19/business/snohetta-nlrb-complaint.html?smid=url-share

Architecture comes alive at night! In my opinion, light is one of the most important architectural elements and is often overlooked. #architecture #light #photography image

From one performing arts centre to another! Located in Beijing, China is the national centre for the performing arts, commonly nicknamed 'The Egg'. The building was designed by French architect Paul Andreu and was opened in 2007. I was lucky to get this shot as I had to be at the airport only a few hours after the shot was taken. #photography #architecture #Beijing image

Singapore has many great places to visit and photograph. The Esplanade Theatres on the Bay, more commonly known as 'the Durian', is a performing arts centre designed by DP architects and Michael Wilford & Partners. The Durians can be seen in the background of this photo I took looking back from Marina Bay Sands. #Photography #Singapore #Durian image

This photo of The Fullerton Hotel and the Merlion in Singapore was one of my first attempts at long exposure. I didn't even have a tripod! I improvised by balancing the camera on a bollard and using the count down timer to ensure my hand didn't shake the camera. Needless to say I bought a tripod at the airport before continuing on my journey. #photography #Singapore 🇸🇬 #architecture image
