A year ago, I thought we were simply organizing a charity event. ๐
I never imagined it would become a commitment that would change the way I see kindness.
As the Outreach Committee Lead in our department, we chose to partner with Little Ark Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports underprivileged children battling illnesses such as blood cancer and thalassemia. ๐๏ธ
These children travel to the National Children's Hospital for treatment. For many families, the journey itself is already a struggle. Transportation, meals, and temporary lodging can become overwhelming expenses while they fight for something far more important, their child's life.
Little Ark Foundation helps carry that burden by providing free temporary shelter, meals, and transportation, allowing families to focus on what matters most: being there for their children. ๐ก
At first, our plan was simple: organize one meaningful event and make it memorable.
But after meeting the children, laughing with them, hearing their stories, and witnessing the strength they carry despite everything they're going through, it became clear that one visit wasn't enough.
So we came back.
And then we came back again. ๐ค
This year alone, we've already visited them twice. We shared stories, danced together, played games, prayed, and simply spent time with them. ๐๐๐ฒ๐
What surprised me most wasn't how much we gave, it was how much we received.
The children taught us how to smile through uncertainty. Their parents showed us what unwavering love looks like. Every visit reminds me that sometimes, the greatest gift we can offer is our presence. โจ
None of this would have been possible without the generosity of my colleagues, whose donations have made these visits and activities possible. Their willingness to give has turned compassion into something tangible. ๐
I'm sharing this here because, as I've explored the BCHNostr community, I've been inspired by how many campaigns bring together two meaningful purposes: creating a genuine positive impact while encouraging the practical use of Bitcoin Cash. It's a thoughtful approach that benefits both communities and the broader BCH ecosystem, and it's something I'd love to learn more about.
It made me wonder if there's a way for initiatives like this to become part of that vision, not just by receiving support, but by introducing Bitcoin Cash in a way that creates lasting value for everyone involved. Whether that's through BCH donations, helping partner organizations learn how to accept BCH, or finding other sustainable ideas, I believe there's plenty of room to explore.
I'm not launching a campaign today. For now, I simply wanted to share the story of Little Ark Foundation and the incredible work they do. If this sparks ideas or conversations about how community outreach and Bitcoin Cash adoption can grow together, I'd love to hear them.
Sometimes changing the world doesn't begin with something extraordinary.
Sometimes it begins by simply showing up and continuing to show up. ๐ฉต
