You’re not allowed to print money. The people who control the money are.

I believe Bitcoin as money is an asset of freedom. Invest in essential things and save for your future self’s liberation.

To everyone building in Bitcoin: make better products. Around 3% of the world is estimated to own Bitcoin, yet we still expect beginners to become security experts before they can feel comfortable using it. People should understand what they’re using, but good products shouldn’t require them to master every technical detail just to use better money. The internet didn’t reach billions because everyone learned how the internet works. Smartphones didn’t succeed because everyone became a computer expert. They succeeded because people built products that made the complexity underneath almost invisible. Bitcoin doesn’t need to become less secure to reach billions. Bitcoin products need to become much harder for normal people to use incorrectly.

Bitcoin didn’t just make me question money. It made me realize how many things I used every day without ever asking how they actually worked. Why does a bank transfer take days? Who can freeze an account? Why does sending money across a border cost more? Who decides how much money exists? You don’t need to become obsessed with Bitcoin, but I think everyone should understand the system they spend most of their life working for.

The dangerous part of earning more money is how quickly things you once considered expensive start feeling necessary.
