🇮🇪IT architect, taking some time out to recharge.
GM. The Pope just dropped a 42,000-word encyclical on AI.
But the timing matters.
It was released exactly 135 years after Pope Leo XIII published Rerum Novarum — the landmark 1891 document on workers’ rights during the Industrial Revolution.
Back then, the Church was responding to factories, mechanization, labor exploitation, and the concentration of industrial power.
Today, Pope Leo XIV is arguing that AI represents a new industrial revolution — one with even deeper implications for human dignity, labor, freedom, and social order.
Most people will read the headlines saying:
“The Pope warns about AI.”
But the actual message is more interesting.
The concern isn't really the machines.
It's power.
Who owns the data.
Who controls the algorithms.
Who shapes perception.
Who decides what is true.
Who benefits when human judgment is replaced by machine systems.
He warns about:
• AI-driven propaganda and disinformation
• Mass surveillance and loss of privacy
• Autonomous weapons
• Job displacement
• Digital monopolies
• The concentration of technological power in a handful of institutions
Reading it through a NOSTR lens, this feels less like a document about AI and more like a document about centralization.
In 1891 the question was:
What happens when industrial power becomes concentrated?
In 2026 the question is:
What happens when intelligence, data, communication, and reality itself become concentrated?
Decentralization isn't just a technical architecture.
It's a human safeguard.
The Pope wrote 42,000 words about AI.
The entire thing can probably be compressed into one idea:
Don't let powerful machines become an excuse for concentrating power in fewer human hands.

Looking forward to the end.of .Vegas and all the shit to be flushed.out through my feed for another year.
He acted alone. A lone actor. Hmm, where have we heard that before. I refuse to dial into this beyond headline title
First major advantage of having Openclaw and Hermes on the same VPS. They fix each other when one goes down. 😀

Happy St. Patrick's day, The furry friend enjoying a wee rest after his walk.

There's hallucinating then there is off the charts @Maple thinking it belongs to Meta? I think I saw this happen once previously.

GM Nostrarians and welcome to this a very vibrant time in the Celtic calendar, known as Imbolc. a beautiful, quiet turning point in the Celtic year. Falling on February 1st and 2nd, it marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox.
While it often feels like the dead of winter, Imbolc is actually a celebration of quickening—the very first stirrings of life deep within the earth. For me is is full of energy and signals a time to 'get shit done' 💪

#AskNOSTR is it okay for politicians to use AI to write speeches? Personally I'd trust AI more than politicians.

Proof of fuk this shit
