I wanted an Airline Manager Simulator in my phone, tried AM4 and kind of liked it but I was repelled by all the ads and lack of multiplayer, so I built my own simulator using Nostr as a backend and lots of algebra. One of the most interesting things I've seen recently was Gemini Flash 3 struggling to decide whether to complete a CAPTCHA to achieve a goal or pretend it couldn't in case it was being tested to avoid faking human behavior. It completed the CAPTCHA and never told me about it.

The hardest part of AI assisted software development is cost management. You can burn expensive tokens Lal day, or design an efficient strategy to use a mix of free, mid, and high end models to get what you need at fractions of the cost of just doing everything with powerful models.

I've been thinking front end development is about to go into a major phase shift. First with generative code and UIs built just in time on demand (already happening) Then with interactive metaphors built with diffusion models. Semantic markup will still be a thing, just not the main way of doing web UI.

Vibe coding hype and agentic development is doing to software what pump dot fun and other launchpads did to tokens. Lowering the barrier to entry and flooding the space with rubbish diluting into oblivion the couple valuable things that remain.

Me parece sorprendente que estemos logrando herramientas poderosas de automatización como CoWork de Claude o Antigravity de Google, sin haber resuelto aún el cifrado en el momento de inferencia. Regalando datos muy sensibles a empresas que han demostrado no respetarlos.

Gen AI and decentralized ledgers are opposing but complementary technologies. The former makes information increasingly easy to fake and increasingly hard to verify, the latter makes information increasingly hard to falsify and increasingly easy to verify. This opposing asymetric relationship will be crucial to the creation of a stable future in the light of deep paradigm shifts.

"Everything old is new again", reading these stories in 2025 feels less like sci-fi and more like an ethics and morality manual for our current AI era.
