Finally bought my tickets. I'll be traveling in around a month to start my studies in another country. I am excited, but I'm also heartbroken. I live with my brother, so our dog will stay with him. I can only hope I can make enough money to come back in a year or two to take her with me. I don't think I can live far away from my dog again. Gosh, why am I a language teacher? If I were something else, I might even make enough money to take her with me NOW.

Yesterday we didn't have classes because our professor was sick. It was good to go back to bed. Today they brought another professor to teach us instead. What a pleasant class. He's really a good one. Time is flying by even though his class today is way harder than the previous ones. It's kinda sad to say that I'm happier today due to the circumstances. Anyways, one more class to go 😎

Does anyone here use Proton services? Any feedback on it? Google services have been pretty disappointing and slow; Outlook’s price is almost the same as Proton’s and I’m not sure I want to spend that much on Microsoft Apple’s been pretty bad for me. iPhone is dying (they didn’t even want to change my battery!) and the cloud service’s been tough. I only use keynote to prepare my lessons.

After my last post this morning, I went to bed and slept for around 4 hours. I couldn't really sleep properly since I had been drinking coffee since 2 am to withstand the classes (2:30-7:30) but I managed somehow to take a little nap. I woke up to the message of our professor telling us she would be teaching at 9 am (my timezone) due to things she had to do. There were no apologies or anything. The class did go the same way as a critized before. It didn't last long, though. At the end of it, I got a "heads-up" about the time of tomorrow's class, which probably means that my complaint yesterday on telegram was seen. I'm finding it hard to be in a good mood. Somehow deprived of sleep, lack of communication and some work to do today. Must say, though, that checking Nostr this morning was great. There were some great memes, and I hope it can continue having these different sort of posts. We all need a laugh sometimes.

Last year, when I applied for the scholarship, I did so thinking I’d never get it because I was 33 years old and had already graduated in a different area (I applied for a bachelor’s in tech. I hold a languages degree). It turned out that I was wrong and I was one of the 40 Brazilians given the scholarship. It’s been 3 weeks of online classes so far. My sincere take: 1 week: I don’t think I have ever seen a class being taught in that way. I mean, I understand different teaching styles but that was not a style, a technique or anything. It was totally an unprepared, unstructured week of classes. Not only that, the professor often screamed at students whenever they made mistakes, among other things. 2 week: our professor was traveling, participating in an event. We had classes at different times. It was scheduled but never started at said time. 3 week: well, I’m typing this while I take a deep breath. The professor hasn’t shown up yet. I haven’t mentioned it but our group is made of students from Africa and Asia (Africans, Middle Eastern, Asians) and I. So I’m the one sitting at the worst time zone. Classes start literally at 2 am for me. But I wanted to do it, right? So I never missed a class. My life has turned upside down. You can imagine what I’m feeling after 2 hours of waiting… I needed to get at least this bit out of my chest. I never thought I’d be saying “well, maybe I shouldn’t go” but this thought is getting stronger on me. Disappointment is the word. 4 am here and off to bed I am. I tried, fellas. Good night

There's an interesting aspect to bitcoin that I can't quite grasp. I mean, I have used other coins in the past (mainly telegram's coins to send a bit of money to my Russian account to pay for courses) which is the amount of things related. For example, so many options of wallets. I understand some are more secure than others. Or buying. Or keeping. Or selling. To be honest, my lack of understanding is much more being a child who can't play with the toy, so you just watch and don't quite get the hang of it. 🤣
