27 days ago, I took a break from the rat race. Since then: I’ve written stories, learned to play some rock songs on guitar, memorised my lines for a play, and mined a block on Bitcoin (XBT)! I can’t say it has all been great. At times it’s been boring at other times I’ve felt listless and afraid. But I’m glad I gave myself the freedom to pursue this regardless of the outcome. Since leaving work, I have worked on my short fiction, rehearsed for a play and helped in a political campaign. I’ve taken care of all my cooking, house cleaning and other daily errands. Taking time off work has allowed me to work with focus and energy, unlocking my creativity.

GM It's day 24. Close to one month since I left my job. Yesterday was the first day where I actually worried about money. I was in McDonald's and I talked to someone I used to work with. When I explained to them what I am doing, I was a bit ashamed and embarrassed for some reason and began to question all of my life choices. I thought to myself, can I really afford to keep spending at this rate with virtually no income? But then in the afternoon we scouted out some locations for my wife's new business. Every choice we take in life carries an element of risk. We have to choose our path regardless. #gm #nostr #bitcoin

GM. It's day 22 of my limited experiment with financial independence. Last time I tried this was when I was removed from my job due to the covid mandates. This time it is y choice. So far I've done some writing, some bitcoin mining and spent a lot of time listening to the heated debates on discord. I've also been rehearsing for a play. GM. Day 18 of my experiment in financial independence. It's kind of nice not having to go into the restaurant. I'm working out what to do with my life. It took a month of stress and effort to finish up at work and to finalise the restaurant sale. Yesterday I attended the launch of the restaurant with the new owners. I feel the shop is in good hands, and I look forward to being there as a customer rather than an owner. I’m considering doing some writing, exploring the experience of being an actor and participating in the Bitcoin circular economy in some way. But let’s see what the universe puts on my heart. Today I went to the launch to the new Thai restaurant, which will be run by the people who bought it from us. I feel at peace as I sit in my yard enjoying the sunshine.

GM Day 17 today. I’ve done my journaling we will go to see the launch of the restaurant by the new owners. We sold the restaurant to my wife’s friend so hopefully they will still make great Tahi food for the people of our tiny town. Later in the day I hope to rehearse for the play. I’ve already placed my order for Bitcoin mining with Mining Rigs Rentals. I find that with all this free time, there is an inner urge to make the most of it, but to also allow my instincts and intuition to guide me – to get out of the way so to speak.
