Big birthday coming up. Big interview coming up. Sleep is not forthcoming. Dreams love unresolved symbols, leading to realizing that I am mourning myself, the version of me when love was pure, unguarded, and uncomplicated. When I felt safe and chosen. Access to me is not infinite. That version of me only existed once. But I hold hope that the capacity is still within me. I grieve for the person I thought I would be. Acceptance is not resignation.

I was sent to prison believing the law would be on my side. I was sent to the SHU for trying to organize a protest at FPC Bryan believing the law would be on my side. Both times I learned the same thing; when you challenge the United States, the rule of law becomes selective. I come from a long line of Scot Irish. My great grandfather rode with Pancho Villa. I believed in courts and legal remedy, but my genetic lineage remind me that power has never been bound by law. What’s happening in Minneapolis makes that painfully clear. Peaceful resistance has its limits when the law is turned against the very people it’s supposed to protect.

Please hire better recruiters @jack I cannot stand talking to Block’s recruiters. They are the rudest recruiters in tech. First one complains the whole time about candidates who “over explain”, only wanting yes and no, tells me stop talking numerous times “I said yes or no only”, 2nd one complains because I opted out of AI (thinking it was video) and she had to take notes. Interviews are stressful enough for people who aren’t narcissists, making someone feel bad the entire time is not going to help them be any less nervous 😡
