Thoughts in the void. Truth. Beauty. Goodness. We hold these truths to be self-evident. Surgeon in my free time. Questions that can't be answered > answers that can't be questioned. Tick tock, next block.
BTC pump after losing your coins has to be the worst twist of the knife. Heart goes out to my brethren in arms 🫂
Toxic maximalism doing toxic tings. Tired of all the cynical takes I see on here. I hold @ODELL @MartyBent and other good-faith bitcoin educators in the highest regard. I maintain that they are good and honorable men - unless there is damning evidence I am just unaware of. All this "they only believed in the product because they promoted the product" criticism seems like bullshit to me. Is it not possible that it was the OPPOSITE: they promoted the product BECAUSE they believed in the product??? Keep your heads up fellas (if you even see this). Unfortunately, the man in the arena eventually gets bloodied. This is the way. And also thank you.
Chaos in bitcoin getting exhausting. But I'll take it anyday over the calm, gradual, heatdeath of the fiat world..... Bitcoin derives order from entropy. Fiat order succumbs to entropy. Few.
Must EVERYTHING be a labor of love?? I, for one, have never compensated any bitcoin youtuber for the THOUSANDS of hours of content I've consumed over the years. So I am in no position to criticize them for accepting sponsorship $$$ from companies they honestly believed to be credible. We were all betrayed. Some horrifically so. We must learn and grow.
A lot of sloppy thinking going on right now. Of course we are in a lot of pain after the Coldcard disaster. But pain does not justify friendly fire. No. Every influencer that promoted ColdCard was not complicit in the entropy defects. We are all only as good as the information upon which we rely. The criticisms I'm seeing fall into one of two general lines of reasoning: 1. Every influencer touting Coldcard as a secure device is accountable because they SHOULD HAVE KNOWN about the vulnerability, and not to know represents some sort of dereliction of duty or worse: outright corruption. OR 2. Only those knowledgeable about code/software development should have been qualified to give HWW recommendations. So not knowing is not an excuse. I take issue with these points because the ENTIRE bitcoin experience is the self-taught common man learning and teaching other self-taught common men. Wisdom acquired in this way is by definition hard-earned -- at times painful and others fatal. But this is the only way to out maneuver an ever-evolving adversary (the State). Do not seek advice from others without the courage to sustain whatever path that advice leads you down. Otherwise lean on your own understanding. If we only relied on pure technologists to purvey knowledge in the bitcoin space, many audiences would be unreachable. We need all voices participating. We were all fooled. Some of us were accountable only to ourselves. Some of us took it upon ourselves to bring others along by sharing what we believed (erroneously) to be best practice. This has produced painful tradeoffs; namely, propogating flawed knowledge. This is tragic. But the alternative world is NOT better. We must be willing to strive and to lift one another. We will endure. We will adapt. Or we will die.
Was skeptical when the BTC astrologer predicted bad things in July/August on TFTC.... maybe she was onto something
Curious to see how insane quantum FUD sounds coming out of this vulnerability exploit...
The older I get, the less I feel I understand people. And the less I feel people understand me.
