Today’s New Year stroll through the farm, the tulips are really bulking up now. Every passing day with a little more sunlight will speed them up just a bit more #tulips #flowers #farmstr
GN Nostr. The only farm pics I have lately are the hellebores and ranunculus so if they’re getting old, too bad, it’ll continue for the foreseeable future #hellebores #flowers #farmstr
Here is another one of our hellebore varieties, Pippa’s Purple, from the Frostkiss series. One of our best producers, she has beautiful freckles inside the petals, and is one of the first bloomers of our winter season. We’re hoping to be cutting by late January! #hellebores #flowers #farmstr #agriculture
Merry Christmas to all. We are grateful to be able to grow beautiful things for people and follow our passion for flowers, even despite the challenges. Keeping faith in God and putting in more than we receive are two things we will try to remember in 2026. Looking forward to what the New Year will bring, the future looks bright #merrychristmas #happybirthdayJesus
The carnations are still producing blooms despite the short days and rainy weather, not enough to sell but enough to take home for the kitchen table. Carnations are nostalgic for us, a classic flower, once grown by many American farmers decades ago, now grown by very few due to cheaper imports from Columbia and Ecuador primarily. Maybe when we have an international neutral reserve asset like #bitcoin American farmers can grow these wonderful flowers for profit again. I’m happy to keep some going on our farm.
A happy winter solstice day, a day as farmers we look forward to, meaning the days are getting longer again so our growing season is on its way, gradually then suddenly. Hmm, sounds familiar…
Just sent sats to a @Geyser fund to the other side of the globe. Over the Lightning Network it cost 1 sat, a fraction of a penny, got there instantly, and required no permission from a banker or government bureaucrat. #bitcoin is changing the world
Apparently using plastic on my farm has a few people on #nostr a little butthurt. I will apologize to no one for our practices, hate all you want. Using plastic mulch helps us avoid using chemicals, it gives us better quality for our customers, and frees up our time for other work. If you want to hate on someone, try Monsanto before dissing a small farm producing for its local market. I guess even bitcoiners and freedom lovers can be petty unfortunately. That’s the end of my rant for the day
Some days it feels like no progress is made, and then you see a picture like this and see how far the plants have come. Onward to 2026. Looking forward to a great crop this spring #flowers #ranunculus #farmstr #spring
Sunday stroll through the farm, and had to share my favorite hellebore from the walk. Bayli’s Blush is the variety, a nice ray of sunshine during these cold cloudy days #hellebores #flowers #farmstr
