All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... but I'll post them here first. Time to die? Not yet.

Long Run today - I usually do this on Sunday, but we're going climbing tomorrow, so the run got moved to today instead. image

High Base Run - I like these slightly higher pace, steady runs. Though I feel some stiffness in my back - I think I will take a day off tomorrow so I can prepare for Friday’s session properly image

I usually rest on Mondays, but my new app decided to give me a workout today anyway… treadmill pace was nice and steady ;). Can't wait for tomorrow's tempo run - it looks monstrous! image

Easy long run towards the end of the week 🏃 I had to change my running app yet again. It turned out my now-previous app can't recognize workout results unless they're sent as structured workout data - so if you hop on the treadmill and nail every exercise, it won't register, and your future workouts get affected as a result. On top of that, the app wasn't really looking at my heart rate. So that's app #3 now :) image

Today drop set session was not easy at all. I chose treadmill to keep pace right 2 x 1km @ 4:05 followed by 2 x 0,8km @ 4:00 followed by 2 x 0,6km @ 3:55 followed by 2 x 0,4km @ 3:50 and finally 2 x 0,2km @ 3:40. Looking forward to more sessions like this one. image

That was an awesome tempo workout session: 3 km at 4:25 min/km, followed by 2 km at 4:15 min/km and finally 1 km at 4:10 min/km. I’ve missed that kind of challenge and effort - thank you my new running app. Life without obstacles - real or made up - is just so boring. image

I am finishing week 9 with a total distance of 41 kms. Good deload. This is also my first week with a new app - the first advantage I noticed that now on long runs and easy runs I do not have to keep some preset pace and can run whatever feels natural. I like that image

Model doesn't matter, harness does! Yesterday I spent 170M input tokens analyzing and developing code, building and fixing markdown files, running workflows, and distilling knowledge out of data. It cost me around $5 - my usual day averages below $1. Over time I've used GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, OpenCode, Gemini (CLI and web), ChatGPT (web), and some models through Azure AI Foundry. Nowadays I mostly use independent model suppliers (EU and US based chips), though I still have access to Copilot and Azure AI Foundry. After all of that, it hit me: in ~90% of cases the model matters less than the environment (the harness) you run it in - and your skills. Almost every task, from writing code to translating to building knowledge, can be done just as efficiently with open-weight models. The performance gap between an average model and the top Anthropic/ChatGPT/Google offerings is around 20% (based on various benchmarks), but the price gap can be ~7,000%: ~$0.05 per million tokens (mixed input/output - what I actually pay) for open-weight models vs ~$3.85 (mixed) for Claude Opus 5. Based on my experience, the real skill is learning to understand and operate models. As human-like as they seem, they're statistical beings predicting the next token - they hallucinate and act weird when they lack proper context. Getting used to that and navigating it with good prompts and harnesses matters more than bleeding-edge models. Also, popular subscription models for LLMs don't make much sense in my opinion - it's much better to use them either for free (paying with your data) or pay per token, anywhere.

Half marathon, August B-race: goal sub-1:40, finished 1:42:41. Complete failure vs what I expected of myself. I trained diligently - 5x/week, no skips - and stayed on Trenara's (running app) plan start to finish. My effort was real. Trenara didn't deliver. I just deleted my account. Fortunately my data was synced to other running apps so now they can take over. image

Long run at the end of week 7. This week I ran a total of 46.3 km but since the Ruda Śląska Industrial Half Marathon is next week it’s better to take it easy. 2 more workouts left! image
