CAD/CAFM by day, aspiring stringer of words into unsettling configurations by night.
Dad joke of the day (you can laugh, it’s funny): I only seem to get sick on weekdays. I must have a weekend immune system.
My Blobbi just looks like he needs his ass kicked 😀
I watched a diabolical little tv movie from 1982 yesterday called “Don’t Go to Sleep”. It reminded me that the 70’s and 80’s are a treasure trove of tv movie fare that most people have never seen. They’re typically low budget and designed to kickstart, extend or fill an actor’s career. These were basically the filler between the shows people really cared about. This one is schlocky, corny full of horror tropes etc but it hit a nerve with me. Plus it has the weirdly wonderful Ruth Gordon and the ever complainy voiced Dennis Weaver who are both fun to watch. In a nutshell it’s either a ghost story with some dark underpinnings, a depiction of some truly menacing psychopathy or some of both. It’s ambiguous and takes a while to reveal what’s happening but it sits in a spot I seem to be fascinated by.. where exactly is the line between objectivity and subjectivity and what truly guides thought and motion? It’s on youtube, probably in the public domain by now. If you like that sort of amusement go watch it.. get back to me on it. image

Combat sports fan or not these two warriors are going to set records tomorrow night. Both are pioneers of women’s MMA and Ronda successfully defended her belt for 8 fights. Very rare. They’re setting a precedent for fighter pay too. Whatever the result both win and so do the fans! image

Is it possible that fostering a glut of information, freely available to all, also creates the idea that information is common and mundane to the point that people lose interest in engaging with it? It’s the only thing I can think of to explain the lack of knowledge in an information society.

image Art Deco was the peak of non utilitarian spaces. Beautiful, fun and sometimes uncomfortable for some people. Kind of like Nostr. 😀
