I’ve been testing Blitz Wallet over the past few weeks, and several features really stand out to me. ⚡️ First and foremost: contacts. I can save a Lightning address and send sats to the same person again later, even if they use a different compatible wallet. What annoyed me about Blink was that contacts were limited to its own ecosystem. Here I store the address once and don’t have to request new payment details each time. That makes a difference when you actually use Bitcoin for payments. I’m especially impressed with Nostr Wallet Connect. 👀 I can, for example, link Alby on my PC to my wallet and set separate permissions and budgets for each connection. What actions is the app allowed to perform? How much can it spend? I want to be able to define those settings myself, and Blitz is currently my favorite for that. Sub‑accounts fit perfectly with this. I’ve already created a dedicated account for Wallet Connect, so I can separate funds for different purposes and keep track of everything. The personal sub‑accounts all rely on the same primary backup. I also like the workflow with Specter: derive a unique seed for Blitz on the hardware wallet via BIP85, display it as a standard SeedQR code, and import it on the phone. 🛠️ BIP85 runs on the Specter, Blitz imports the derived seed, and I just need to remember or document the derivation index. This lets me restore the everyday wallet from my existing backup while the main seed stays on the hardware wallet. The fact that Blitz is open source and that the fees are visible directly in the app is another plus. I want to be able to see how the wallet works and what costs are incurred while using it. My test wasn’t completely smooth: the home screen felt cluttered in places, and some payments took a long time to load. The additional operator assumptions from Spark also need to be taken into account for me. The combination of contacts, NWC, sub‑accounts, and the seed‑QR workflow is really exciting for small everyday amounts. There’s a lot of potential here that I’d like to keep exploring. Besser ist es, die drei Hardware‑Wallets für eine Multisignatur‑Wallet zu verwenden. Dabei verbindest du alle drei Geräte zu einer Master‑Wallet, in der all deine Bitcoin liegen. Für jede Zahlung benötigst du immer zwei der Hardware‑Wallets. Wenn du eines verlierst oder es gehackt wird, verlierst du keinen einzigen Satoshi. Die Einrichtung ist aufwendiger und erfordert einen vollständigen Wiederherstellungsplan.

On 25 April 2025, I received my temporary residency for Paraguay. I hope I will never need it; in one week I will try to change it into a permanent one.

The second time I went to paraguay, I took some Specter DIY components with me in my hand luggage. My hope was that I would be able to find a local 3D Printing shop and conduct a Specter Shield Lite Assembly Workshop there.

The first time I went to Paraguay alone, I orange-pilled a Paraguayan hotel. I stayed at a small hotel, and in the evening, I talked to the owner in my poor Spanish, with the help of a translator. In the end, I paid half of the hotel bill in Bitcoin to his new Blink wallet.
