Been giving this project some thought. Here’s my short term goal: I will release an EP with 4-5 songs. Mixture of acoustic and grunge. I have 3 songs already need polishing and two more to write. I can record at home with an okay result so save Sats there. I have done mixing before but I am not great at it. I definitely can’t master a track so I need to outsource these two skills which requires some Sats. I thought about doing it all on my own but don’t want a mediocre end result. I’ve got a guy who can do the mixing and mastering for me he charges $350 AU per song so EP around the $1750AU mark or at current price 0.04 BTC. So that’s my fund raising target and as I expect #bitcoin prices to increase I will have more buying power. As I write these songs, I will share the demos here so you can follow the progress. So as I am thinking this through from song concept to a polished final version ready for human ears, I see some obstacles ahead maybe the community can help: Recording- not a problem, have most gear or can borrow to do at home. Mixing-I know a few people and can convince one to accept BTC for their services. Mastering-Don’t know anyone but sure I can find someone and convince them to accept BTC. Music Streaming platform-Here is where I see the problem and maybe someone knows if there is platform that is BTC only. Work around would be something like a free streaming platform like Soundcloud and have a link for tips etc. Another work around I thought of is uploading it as a ‘Podcast’ and streaming on something like Fountain which has Sats streaming built in. Anyone got some ideas? #bitcoinmusician

So starting off with the basics: mobile wallet opted for Muun Wallet. Really easy to setup and backup. Nice interface. Like the fact you don’t need to manage a separate Lighting and Bitcoin wallet, it’s all integrated into one. Of course in the future when I hopefully have larger bags of Sats to manage will have a multisig cold wallet solution. Will update when that day comes.

Dusted the old guitar off today. Starting the ‘lessthantime’ project; creating music on a Bitcoin standard. My aim here is to document the process of writing, producing, and performing music on a Bitcoin standard. My hope is that this will highlight the benefits and also the current challenges for this or a similar endeavour.
