Schindl - a German word meaning a thin slat of wood, which was widely used in Austria, Switzerland, and Germany to cover roofs and walls. A landmark of the Tyrolean capital Innsbruck is a roof covered with copper gilded tiles also called schidl. And the confectionery, located near the famous Golden Roof (Golden Dachl) and operating since 1803, produces Schindl chocolates. The most "Innsbruck" edible treat. In the Munding confectionery you can enjoy coffee, which is prepared by one of the oldest industrial coffee machines still in operation, the FAEMA E61. And you can see the world's oldest patented automatic device for preparing dough. And during the Advent period, the facade of the confectionery turns into a calendar. Johann Nepomuk Munding was born in 1785 in Iberlingen on Lake Constance. Upon arriving in Innsbruck, he got a job in the pastry shop of the city chef Kircher. Being hardworking and ambitious, Johann Nepomuk soon rented the business, and later even bought the entire property. Johann Nepomuk Munding in 1860 placed the first Innsbruck Christmas tree in the window of his pastry shop - artistically and festively decorated. At the time, it caused a sensation: the Christmas tree was perceived as a pagan symbol and regarded as a provocation.

After many years experience of skiing in ski resorts in Austria, Italy, Slovakia I've seen many different types of ski lifts. But on Silvretta (Voralberg Austria) we had an occasion to try something different. After ascending in gondola lift to the level of 1738m, minibusses (called "Tunnel Taxi") took us to the bank of artificial lake (Stausee) at 2030m ASL by really narrow winding tunnels. #mountains #Alps #Austria

It's so good to have a coach who helps you to keep physical shape. But our coach equally cares of our joy. Our gym is beautifully decorated every Christmas.

In more than 20 years working like a tourist guide I've spent plenty of time looking for information about destinations. The biggest part of facts and stories about Paris, Berlin, Dresden, Nuremberg, Prague, Warsaw, Gdansk, Tallinn, Calabria, Madeira are in my head. Another part - in computer. And the last but not the least - in this filling cabinet. #travels image

At least! After some failures to pay by Satoshi in Funchal. The waiter in restaurant Corner 205 was very patient. He even offered me to have a meal and pay on my next visit in Madeira. Fortunately payment was accepted🌺 image
