Johann Nepomuk Munding was born in 1785 in Iberlingen on Lake Constance. Upon arriving in Innsbruck, he got a job in the pastry shop of the city chef Kircher. Being hardworking and ambitious, Johann Nepomuk soon rented the business, and later even bought the entire property. Johann Nepomuk Munding in 1860 placed the first Innsbruck Christmas tree in the window of his pastry shop - artistically and festively decorated.
