Feng Shui coins are modern replicas of ancient Chinese cash coins, used as amulets to attract wealth, prosperity, and protective energy. Their round shape represents heaven and the square hole represents earth, symbolizing cosmic harmony. They are typically made of brass or bronze and often tied together with red string in lucky numbers like 3, 5, 8, or 9. (In this Poncho the digit sum of all applications is 8, the most important Chinese lucky number. 😉)

The four characters on the used coins in the poncho (see picture) are 招 (top), 進 (right), 財 (bottom) and 寶 (left). Together they form the phrase 招財進寶 (zhāo cái jìn bǎo), which means “attract wealth and bring in treasures” or “usher in riches and precious things.

This weeks design features four kinds of embellishments/applications (all similar to ancient currenies): - Millefiori Glass beads (Africa) - Pyrite Stone donuts (Rai Stones /Yap) - Cowrie shells (Africa/Islands/Asia) - Feng Shui Coins (China)

The main part is made with malabrigo yarn: Mechita & Silky Merino, absolutely soft and glossy yarn (but very color intense, I still didn't dare to do the first wash 😅🙈#knittersouthereyouknowmyfear). The collar is made from super soft Bremont Sara de Luxe - this yarn is not produced anymore, it was the softest yarn I have ever touched in my life 🥲

Lana Grossa Inizio Pelo yarn for the "vegetation" trees at the bottom of the vulcano.. is very soft and fluffy yarn 🥰 760sts at the end .. it took forever 😂

With 3.5mm and 4.5mm needles ...
