Feeling bullish that AI technology becomes decentralized enough in the long run that it becomes a core freedom technology for those who wish to use it that way. I think that the would-be monopolists at the big firms and government bureaucrats think this is possible, too. They instinctively want to maintain control of the tech under whatever legal pretext they can come up with. Hence the performative pearl clutching over AI safety and efforts to treat it like a defense technology subject to arms export controls. They do not want another internet the happen where they accidentally enabled and allowed a technology that undermined their right grip on media narratives.

I have 100x less of an issue with interdictions and decapitation raid on Venezuela than bombing Iran. Not even in the same category of stupid.
