I cringe a little when I copy an image to clipboard and paste it in a Nostr client (something I often do). They all support it and will happily upload it. Great UX! #kudos It's just... it's always PNG (and I understand why), but imagining all the wasted bytes because I just wanted to post cat_meme.jpg makes me shiver, almost at the same level as emailing files to yourself to keep them at hand.

So I get that mostr.pub imports (some of) the Fediverse notes, but its website gives me vibes it works both ways? There are Nostr users AND Fediverse users listed... But it only copies Fediverse accounts based on username entry on their site, so I guess someone from the Fediverse has to add me first to see my content? Does it work for all Fediverse users, or just for the ones that have added me? #asknostr

Was thinking about making something akin to a decentralized OF. Something that could be deployable with just one click in a browser plugin. There are already NIPs for marketplace, and I had an idea or two for encrypting. There's a question about abusing storage providers, but you could always use paid ones. But who will come first on a censor-resistant content network with integrated pseudo-anonymized payments? And who would take the blame if authorities wouldn't be able to shut it down? I mean, we all saw what happened with Ninja Wallet...

There is a cashier line without any sweets at my local market. For parents with kids who are too willing to throw a tantrum if they don't get their sweet fix. And even more often, I just default to short, since, you know, not everyone is capable of handling the context that leads up to the information they asked for in the first place. I liked some early seasons of Andromeda, partly because it was sci-fi with nice ships, partly because there was Romy, an android with nice assets. One thing that bothered me (not mentioning the falling quality) was that at one point, Harper - the local technobabble expert - caused a rift in time that ultimately led to a parasitic race waging war against the known universe. But he pulled the lever, even when he was on the brink of being rescued from whoever was forcing him to do it. He knew it was wrong and would have dire consequences, but he simply "needed to, for science" - breakthrough technology, thought to be impossible to perform. (And he was forgiven by the main cast a scene later, despite making everything so, so much worse. Another pet peeve, but they needed to preserve the casting, I guess.) Alas, that brings us to today: two windows open on my monitor. Pictures of crushes in one, some random "make NSFW avatar" site in the second. I am actually starting to understand the struggle Harper faced...
