It is clearly visible in the space that many OG bitcoiners and cypherpunks just disappeared from the public spaces, creating a void that was unfortunately mostly filled with influencers repeating popular slogans and shilling products for fiat.
It is understandable. Many just got tired. Many retired after holding a few cycles. Many stopped believing, disappointed by the scrutiny of especially Western bureaucrats that turned our lives into KYC-hell over the last couple of years. And many are simply protecting their opsec.
All understandable.
However, if the “founder’s spirit” and the values that shaped the early days of Bitcoin are given up, if cypherpunks stop being vigilant, if we stop believing in the orange revolution, we will just hand over the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to truly and fully separate money and state at scale.
Sure, Bitcoin will survive. But in what form?
Is Bitcoin going to be widely used, or just locked behind some third-party operator’s multisig? Will we be able to use it to buy products and services directly and without censorship?
The fight is not over yet!
All those people who say “we have already won” just don’t understand the full picture.
We only have one shot. There’s not gonna be a second chance.
So we have to work our asses off to make sure we win this fight.
Not just for us, but also for the future generations that come after us.
So stay humble & stack sats.
Be a vigilant and paranoid cypherpunk.
And teach others to follow the same.
