The most clear cut and egregious violation of men's rights in the world today is the military draft. It's very telling that the manosphere podcast bros rarely ever talk about it. But ya see nearly all the military leaders and politicians who enact these policies are men, and so this issue can't be blamed on women. For the red pill dudes, it's not about protecting men, it's about blaming women.
Does being understanding and loving actually work? I feel like I've put in an epic effort for decades to be as decent as I can to people. I've bent over backwards to be understanding. I've worked hard to hug rather than kick when someone is down. ...did any of that help anything? If someone doesn't want to see you, if their ideology won't let them respect you, then they will just never be good to you. It doesn't matter how loving you are. You can't make someone care.
It's tax day! ...how much did you contribute to the perpetual war?
You can't make people care... you can't make people care... you can't make people care 😢 you just gotta try to find the ones that do.
What really fills me with terror when discussing abortion is not that people care greatly for a fetus, I get that, I share that, it's that so many don't seem to have any understanding for women or even a drop of care for their rights or well being. Seeing the vitriol and assumed fault of women on such intense display is truly terrifying.
Where are all the protectors? I was told that men are protectors… where are they? Now there are a few, but wow are they rare, and I get so, so exhausted with having to explain why I have basic human rights, why I should have boldly autonomy, why I should be the primary decision maker in my own life. At times it seem that I’m surrounded by a sea of men that want to subjugate me and control my body. Where are the protectors? I would really, really love to know more men that take it as a given that I have bodily autonomy and should be leading my own life. I would really, really love to be around more men that actively protect my autonomy in the world. ...can someone help me find them?
People who are staunch pro-lifers and yet own guns and eat meat have a strange set of priorities. You’re telling me that you are willing to end countless animals for your culinary enjoyment, but you wouldn’t end a 6 week fetus to save a 12yr old from having to carry and birth her rapists child? I think ya got that morality the wrong way around.
Sometimes I get a bit down about how much authoritarianism and elitism has crept into the Bitcoin world. But today, I want to take a moment to appreciate those in this space that didn’t lose their values. Those that are still here for the freedom tech, still here for the decentralization of power, those that are still curious and learning. As I’ve lost respect for the Bitcoin world at large I’ve gained such intense respect for them. 🫶
How exhausting it is to constantly have to check and test to see if those who are trying to get close to you have any respect for your basic human rights. That has been the case for me in the past ~4 years. So, so many in the Bitcoin/Crypto community have gone down an ugly red pill path adopting an ideology which tells them that women are not appropriate to full autonomy. And these people will attempt to pull you in to their ideology. They will court you and use lovely sounding words and phrases, and once your guard is down they will try to convince you that you are a follower, inappropriate to decision making, a second class human, support staff only. It’s so exhausting, and pathetic. They hide their ideology as they lack the courage to be honest about their convictions. They know that they will be rejected outright if they don’t hide behind flowery words and drip feed their disrespect. What sucks most about this is that now it’s a logistically horrible idea to let anyone in at all until they have thoroughly proven their respect for my basic human rights. So tiring. And it doesn’t feel like that should be the case, that I should have to performs checks to see if someone supports my basic autonomy. What bull shit.
Learning someone’s opinions on abortion is very revealing. It will tell you… First, if they have a simplistic black-and-white view of the world or if they understand the complexities and difficulties of human life. Second, it will quickly reveal if they do or do not have any respect for women’s autonomy and decision making.
Never was there an abortion that was not a tragedy. But life is complex and full of tragedies of varying types. Sometimes abortion is the least tragic option in a very tragic situation. And here is the really, really important part, if you are not pregnant, if it is not your body that will be torn apart, then this difficult, very morally heavy and tragic decision, is not yours to make. I’m very anti-abortion, it’s a horrible thing to have happen, but here is the thing, any attempt at giving this decision to anyone besides the person who is pregnant, the person who’s body is on the line, is a slap in the face to the autonomy and dignity of that person. Should you tell me that you wish to have laws to prevent abortion, or to give that decision making to anyone besides the person with their body on the line, then I know, should any error or accident or assault come my way, you would hold me down and force me to be an incubator. You do not respect my mind, my decision making, and my autonomy. You are my would be enslaver.
If you want people to have understanding for you, and you should, then you need to practice having understanding for others. And once again, we’ll look to the red pill crew for an example of how not to do it 😉 The red pill crew, or those sympathetic to them, will explain to you that the “male loneliness epidemic” and young men falling into extremism is a symptom of them being treated badly by the very “woke” lefties, and the extreme feminists, and by the confusing messaging to young men about where their value comes from. And I totally agree, that’s a problem and we should have some understanding for it. However, the same set of people who will expect you to have understanding for young angry misogynist men will fail to understand the angry feminists. Don’t ya think that maybe extreme feminism is a reaction to centuries of legal, social, and at times physical repression of women? Might those things cause some backlash that we should have some understand for? And these same people that want you to have sympathy for young angry misogynist men will also talk about gang violence and “black on black” crime. They also fail to understand where that might come from. They will reject any discussion of the down stream effects of centuries of brutal legal repression and systematic segregation and impoverishment. Might it be that some young black men fall into gangs as they were a born into a difficult situation that doesn’t give them as many options as others get? Should we have some understanding for that? You can’t have it both ways. If you want others to have understanding for you, and you should, then you need to practice understanding for others.
