People are pissed about Xbox adding egregious time limits for its cloud gaming. Question though, isn't this a good thing? Isn't this an admission that cloud gaming is at best unsustainable, and at worst, a complete scam?

We live in a real messed up timeline where there is continued negative press about PlayStation, and continued positive press about Xbox, and Xbox hasn't found some insane way to fuck it up.
I'm relieved that GTA 6 didn't get a physical edition... just think, there might have been leaks!

Piss filters and tits. We gotta go back.
Fuck Sony, but still, working on snagging PS4 games lately.

My son and I have been playing chess. He's still learning and I'm just naturally a bad player. I was being dumb and he forced a stalemate. The celebration has been a bit excessive haha
I've never liked the concept of Game Pass, but in this digital-only hellscape, it's probably the best option.
Would you rather pay for Netflix or buy a revocable license through Amazon or Apple?
At least Game Pass is honest, you don't own anything and you know it.
So I saw The Odyssey last night - the conspiracy theorist in me can't help but think the culture war stuff was artificially injected into this film to draw attention to it (which greatly succeeded), and to distract from the fact that it's a pretty mid-tier film.
I don't know if anything in the Trump election speech last night is true or not, but here's the thing - if it is true, no one is going to jail for it, so who cares? You might as well not even bothered releasing the info.
One thing I admire about Boomers is their complete ignorance of the HR hellscape that we face in 2026.
They just don't fucking care and its great.

The pinacle of AI advancement will be when it can produce new, 22 minute long episodes of Seinfeld with a hint for the theme and a push of a button. At that point, humans will be obsolete.
I could PR my way out of this Sony debacle. I would say as a console company, we've been increasingly concerned with discs not having full builds and being unplayable without downloads. To protect players against this issue, we ended disc support. We are reversing course, but going forward all disc versions will need to pass a more stringent test and be released at least 6 months after the digital version to ensure build quality. They save face, depreciate physical further (which is what they actually want), but make discs better for the subset that likes physical media (for the time being). Reframe and delay - just keep boiling the frog.
Eat shit England
(We'll be cool tomorrow)
There is no point in console gaming at this point. Just get a PC, and I say this as someone who plays on console 90% of the time.

I dunno if this is corporate backtracking or always the plan, but I'm okay with this approach. I can wait for a physical copy.

Owning physical media is really just betting that a company with a digital storefront is more likely to screw you over than your house burning down - which I dont know the odds, maybe 1% to 2% over a lifetime (3% to 5% if your wife tries to cook everything with high heat).
Smart people preorder their digital games. What if the stores run out?!
Popehat getting banned from BlueSky might be the funniest thing I've read all morning.
